I have gone through most of the windows systems as i have emulated windows 3.1, windows 3.11, windows 95, windows 98, windows me, windows 2000 and windows xp all in virtualbox and i am looking for new operating systems to play with.
So if you know a good os just tell me where i can download it from and how to set it up in virtualbox and ill be on my way. And if any of you have questions on how to set up any of the OS’s i have said i can help with that as well.

Either Windows 7 or a version of linux. Don’t bother with macs unless you are dealing with a business that is dependant on macs systems.

I already use windows 7 ultimate edition on my computer (found a copy of it when my parents got computers that works with my PC) and its legit.
So what version of linux should i use? and can win loader work with windows vista?

I’ve replaced windows clients and severs here with linux.
My current linux of choice is Mint with Mate as the front end.
I use Libreoffice and Thunderbird with Lightning to replace Office and Outlook.
Server wise I am using Zentyal as a file/mail server with Zarafa as the exchange replacement.
Old hat now as it has been running for 7 years or so and I’m getting ready to look at upgrading.
As far as setting up any OS in Vbox, just set up the Vbox client asd usual and then make sure it has a bootable CD/DVD drive and then point the ISO image you download to that drive and reboot the client and the install will start.
Smee Again
Opensuse or Mint If you want good support for Vbox usage.
And the arch wiki is great for infomation outside of the distro for setups. This wiki is good if you are on linux. On windows, well It’s been a while, and I only used windows 10 for a very short time.

Something lightweight. Which probably means some form of Linux.
I enjoyed having Win98SE running on my virtual machine because dosbox often conflicted with Win7. Had a good time playing all my favorite old games that way.
