Any torrenters on here that can give me tips on the subject?

Like what is the best program to use? what anti virus should i use? what are the best sites to use? and what is the best way not to get emails or sued by copyright holders?

So far right now i just have bit torrent and malwarebytes and nothing else because i am more familar with downloading off of a sever compared to P2P.

Just an east coast asshole who likes to curse, If you get offended by words like fuck, cunt, shit, piss, bitch or any racial slurs then you just scroll down.

Use utorrent and combine that with a fast proxy service like btguard which when you subscribe to btguard there are configuration bits to put inside the utorrent program. That’s a minimal effort config that will only affect you when using utorrent and nothing else and will keep your real IP address from being revealed and traced back to you.

The other option is a VPN service. This will affect all your internet related activities (torrenting, browsing, gaming, streaming) while you’re connected to the VPN. You want to shop for one that’s not only fast but also doesn’t keep logs. Generally speaking though you will notice a significant slowdown on internet related activities going through a VPN. They’re easyy to use though, just load up their client and click connect usually and you can pick to connect thru multiple states and even different countries if you wish.

If you want ultimate security, use both. Connect to your VPN service and then configure utorrent for a proxy service connection.

Proxy services are usually slightly cheaper and much faster than VPN services.

Utorrent, tiny program that does what it’s supposed to do and nothing else.

I know there are better ways to do than what I do. I use linux Mint. For my VPN I use “Private Internet Access”. For my torrent client I use “transmission”. I use “easytether” to get around my cell phone carriers data quota and usually stream at night and watch later when I have the time. Usually download between 100 and 300GBs a month. (I know the carriers claim they don’t have the capacity but only in America do they give you that BS and throttle you to crazy slow speeds.) I use kickass, piratebay, and extratorrent.

I’m hoping somebody could chime in here and explain how to setup seedboxes, make magnets and torrent files, and generally do things right!

I also use Private Internet Access VPN services. They’re not what I would consider speedy but it’s relatively cheap and they don’t log access. Whenever i’m on a public wifi system, I always connect to PIA VPN before i do anything else.

There’s really no need to torrent anything illegal. utorrent with maybe an IPblocklist will work pretty well in general. I’m not sure the blocklist is even useful though.

VPNs and other stuff will help, but you’ll be spending more money and time on that than just buying whatever it is you’re looking for. Nowadays most things are cheap/free anyway.

Most of the ipblocklists seem to be subscription only. I used to use peerblock but it’s kind of pointless these days.

The safest way though is again not to get illegal stuff. But if you’re going to do it, there are other ways to get things these days. The old standby used to be newsgroups, which I bet are still around today.
