Brothers, I came across an idea during my MGTOW travels called The Great Filter. I don’t care to explain it here – look it up yourself. But the question remains: Why can we not observe any intelligent life in the entire universe. Surely, by now we could have observed something?

Now, on that note have you ever asked yourself what if some if not even many rich people from the highest earning 5 % of the world might actually count on so and so many people at the bottom dropping out of society entirely to be ghosting out in some remote wilderness..?

I'd rather die a natual death with a clear MGTOW conscience somewhere off the grid than one within "modern" civilisation with a big stress mark on my forehead and a couple of dozen tubes plugged into my body. Intelligent life is probably so spread out from each other, as soon as one planet with intelligent life develops another one extinguishes.

We are far enough out from the galactic Center where life had the first chance to emerge that finding us would be extremely difficulty. The chances that many life forms had to evolve were numerous but ones that had the environmental conditions needed to reach the intelligence levels and resources severely limited space travel to few species. Distances in space are vast and extremely dangerous. Our nearest neighboring system is four light years away. (For those who may not know, A light year is the distance light travels in one year.) Our Voyager space craft finally left the solar system after about, I think, 3.5 decades. Just to travel to our nearest neighboring system would take many generations. Food, water and other necessary items would have to be recycled over and over again. An alternative would be cryogenic stasis, putting people basically in hibernation for 100s of years. Einstein says we can’t travel faster than light. We can’t even reach a decent fraction of that. So even if an intelligent, space faring race was deliberately looking for us it would have a great deal of difficulty. We have made ourselves known for only about one hundred years through electromagnetic radiation. Our TV and Radio waves have been traveling for only one hundred years and become so faint and unintelligible and would be so alien that other species would be unable to pick it up let alone understand it. Have we been found? Possibly. But highly unlikely.

I am not a scientist or even college educated. I could be entirely wrong.

Hanson aside, I tend to lean to the tenet of the Fermi paradox. Like much of our existence, things happen every day that we cannot see or sense. The lack of sensory input does not negate the existence of nano particulars. It’s there, but we just don’t know it.

Why would we expect to see something – or even for them to see us.

Before fire you wouldn’t see the guy several valleys away. If you didn’t know what fire was, would you recognise it for what it was and a sign of life ?

How long from that point till now in our history and just how much have things changed. Wired connections, to wireless, to microwave and laser. All that advancement and we still are so backward we can’t get to the next galaxy.

Someone advanced enough to travel here from there would probably not recognise our output for what it was, too old and archaic.

And all of this assumes that they would see like us, hear like us, be a little like us, but why would they. They would probably have evolved in a completely different environment and therefore be so different from us and experience their reality so differently we might stand beside each other and not know it.
