WGTOW! Can there be such a thing?

There’s a blog in progress called WGTOW (women going their own way). They have a long list of objectives but primarily claim to “help current feminists consider a different point of view, one that has more life in the long run.” They have a philosophy of all or nothing which says

Many men are either timid and pathetic or have self-obsessed-misogynistic-man-whore syndrome. We would rather be alone than be with a men like these, no matter how much they have to offer us materially. We will not allow lesser men into our hearts or beds.

My question is: Can there be such a thing as WGTOW?

I wish them luck and GREAT success! I especially like how they have to put men down…yet again for the gazillionth time…to get their point across, then at the end make a reference(right on cue) to sex. Adieu females.

Please gentlemen, I want us to have a discussion. It won’t be any good if we just dismiss them. For starters, I think these are the pros and cons.

PROs

• They define feminism as “Corporate, hypocritical, brainwashing, ignorant, anti-academic, and in many cases, annoying.”
• They don’t want to be accepted for jobs, scholarships, school placements, programs, or projects simply for being women. They want to earn everything they get.
• Their personal note.

 

CONs

• Their tag line for WGTOW is “Why should men have all the fun?” which somehow indicates that they’re doing it just for the sake of “we want a similar thing for women too”.
• Their “All or Nothing” philosophy which I defined in my first post.
• They want to redefine feminism. To quote them, “I think we all know that feminism as an idea and concept can mean so much more than it does right now! Let’s change the discussion and focus on what we as women can positively do to make a better world!” which could be an insidious agenda to repackage feminism and sell it as something different.
• They “don’t want men to dominate them, necessarily ;-)” I can feel the double standard bulls~~~.
• They “don’t want to police men, tell them how to speak or how to think” as if policing men is their birthright and they are doing everyone a favor by refusing to police men.
• Their object is “To create a stronger language bond between females. This site is made by women for women! Nothing typed will be said in acknowledgement of male readers; the equal and opposite of MGTOW spaces.” which again feels like they’re just imitating us.

All in all, 3 PROs vs 5 6 CONs. Still, let the discussion begin.

From my perspective, GYOW is not a movement that strives to change society. Men have MRA for that. MGTOW is saying “I choose not to participate”. There is a distinct difference.

Based on what I’ve seen from WGTOW, they are striving to redefine feminism. That’s not GTOW. It’s a movement. Perhaps they have a reading comprehension problem. If they successfully repackage feminism, it will be called feminism 4.0, and I want no part of it.

Anyone who is looking for allies doesn’t understand the TOW part.  Allies are for those who are war against another group, and you need them to partner with you to defeat an enemy, and there will be compromising.  Allies?  Really?

If this is a claim of independence, there won’t be many women behind the movement. This means work and a job! A woman may be capable of claiming to be a WGTOW perhaps, but women, will NEVER have this mentality aside from in very small numbers. Why work when you can con a man into doing it for you? A woman’s logic is always going to land on having the man do the work because most of today’s societies justify it and endorse it. There’s no real reason for a woman to go their own way unless they are the anomaly amongst the very extremely large majority.

I don’t see anything wrong with any of it really. I mean I could pick it apart for sure, but I’m only saying I don’t see anything wrong with it to the effect that if they want to try and form a band and gather reinforcements, they are more than welcome. I won’t stop them. I’ll casually observe and see what comes of it. See if any of them can actually maintain their claims without being hypocrites in the process (I think I could expose some hypocrisy and predict even more just with the little bit we have here). We already know we can support our reasons over here.

And I notice they made it very clear what they DON’T want in a man, but made no mention of what they do want in a man. I didn’t notice any clear distinction being made that they are swearing off men altogether based on the criteria they present, or if they are saying what they don’t want, and are holding out for their white knight of unknown criteria?

They’ll obviously need to further define their standards and hash some things out if they want their actual stance and worldview to be defined in a clearly understood manner.

As MGTOW it’s not that difficult. We are refusing to engage with females based on individual experience and observation, and we are each fully and readily capable of giving the reasons as to why this is.

Their overall ideology doesn’t seem quite so simple since we don’t know if they just don’t want to engage with men, or if this is the typical female “white knight” bulls~~~ where they are holding out for “the one”.

So, that’s my two cents since Vats wanted this to be a real discussion.

I agree with the sentiments on the list Lord Vats posted. However, I have had too many women repudiate what seemed like hard decisions. Even 24 hours later, they have denied yesterday’s commitment and asserted the opposite.

So, these women may well believe what they are saying today. Tomorrow, who knows? I’ll bet even they don’t.

I think it’s common sense not to host a website when the content is not ready. What stupidity!
Also, the founding gal is barely in her 20s and somehow she has had relevant experience with feminism and “weak and pathetic men” to found WGTOW. At least, our founding fathers aren’t a bunch of teenagers. Interesting. I don’t see this movement gaining too much steam. Most women are conditioned to believe men are there to serve them, and therefore, they “need” men for a whole host of crutch-type securities. It’s like welfare in a way. Not many people on welfare or receiving handouts are going to vote for politicians running on platforms to limit handouts and welfare. They are going to do what helps them the most. And a woman latching onto a guy for emotional, financial, sexual, etc., support, serves those ends.

1. They list the website as an equal and opposite of MGTOW. Therefore they care what men think even though they claim not to Going your own way is the epitome of not giving a s~~~ about what others think, WGTOW is about caring what people who think for themselves think and doing what they believe will hurt us.

2. Women operate on hive minds they cannot in any way go their own way unless the group tells them they are going there as a group.

Lastly this website has been in virtually the same condition of non-usability for over a year and I believe at one point they actually had a disclaimer that was asking for people to donate time and money to get it running. Search this forum for more on the subject, it has had at least two other dedicated threads that I am aware of.

I don’t think WGTOW will last because women need men for resources and children. Yes they’re sperm banks but how many women are rushing to the sperm banks for sperm. Hardly any. They want a guy to pay for a child so they’ll get money if it don’t work out. That’s my take.

A woman would have to be rather financially self sufficient to truly be WGTOW.  Some lady who pulls down $120k/year can run her own life independently, if she chooses, and still have her Island vacations and $200 purses.  Beyond that always assume Hypergamy, they will all need your income to live the lifestyle they want. The hypergamy is not always literal gold digging, if her desired lifestyle is children then at some point she will be dependent on your money and sweat.

Women can claim to be going their own way, but it will never, ever be true. Why? Because self sufficiency is an inherent requirement for Going Your Own Way. Women are not self sufficient.

Women are net consumers. They consume far more than they produce, and so they will always need resources from outside sources. Sure they can claim things like they “don’t need a man,” but they do. They really really do. They just obfuscate their need through layers of tax collectors, welfare payments, child support orders, alimony, and so on. Take all that away and make them truly go their own way and they will literally starve.

Men are net producers. They produce far more than they consume, and so they can be independent of any outside resources. When Men Go Their Own Way they are simply being Men.
