These people are the scum of society. I lived next to woman who was beaten so badly by an ex husband, she had trouble talking, her walking was bad due to balance issues from head injuries, but she did as good as she could. It even caused eye damage. Her name is Dottie. We talked a lot, it was a slow process due to her condition. I enjoyed it all the same. I asked her one day what do you enjoy doing the most? She said getting up and going to work and doing my share. She couldn’t stand being couped up in her apartment doing nothing she said. Walking to Cals diner in Crete Ill was another thing she enjoyed. It was 2 blocks away from our apartment complex and it crossed a double track Union Pacific Railroad mainline. Trains came through at 60 mph. Scarred me to death to watch her walk over them. She did though in the rain snow or sunshine.
She worked in a manufacturing plant in Chicago Heights Ill. Her parents are the ones that told me what happened. It never dawned on me she was in her early thirtys. She looked 50. I guess this may be off topic but every time I see this s~~~ with these people it makes me sick and I think of her. To go through that hell and keep on going in life the best she could was amazing to me as a 20 year old barely a man. This was 20 yrs ago almost. I haven’t seen her since. She was and still is an inspiration to me about work ethic and life in general. These parasites won’t even try. I have little pity for them who won’t try.
