I found it interesting that the first story was from King county Washington.

The first action Ben Carson took after being confirmed as Secretary of HUD (Housing and Urban Development, where welfare, section 8 housing, and food stamps are managed) was to audit the entire agency. The audit found $520 billion dollars in accounting errors.

The next action Secretary Carson took was to send out the letters for those whom do not qualify for welfare and section 8, yet were receiving such benefits, that their benefits were being cut off.

Too many people gaming the system and not enough employees trying to catch them. The local DSS office staff have less than 2.5 minutes per case to review, update, perform data entry and certify records for the monthly audit. This does not count the time it takes to enter a new “client” into the system.

The federal government should get that money back. They should take their houses away and sell them. I’d make a deal with the welfare cheats: you can spend 5 years doing:

    a) community service work in a homeless shelter.

    b) time in prison.

There seriously needs to be welfare reform in the USA. Welfare is supposed to be a program to provide TEMPORARY RELIEF to people who are living in poverty. Welfare programs should require recipients to prepare for the work force. And, there should be an investigation of that person’s social security number, tax returns, marital status, etc., before the first check is mailed out!

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
