Was just red the riot act by my mom with no grand children from me

Interesting conversation with my Mom today. I called to confirm for Turkey day and we were talking and I told her about my client who just had another kid from a different woman while he’s still married. She said well, money is not the most important thing in the world. At least his mother has two grand kids, while I only have one (sister’s marriage). Seems Thanksgiving is going to be grand this year. I also find it interesting that since she doesn’t have to worry about money (Dad’s pension, SS, and retirement accounts), money is not a big deal. However, guess who loaned her money while all that dough was tied up…

It’s like taking the divorce knife and twisting it over and over. You know, it still hurts. No one likes failure. No need to rub it in. I’m freakin 40 years old and I still stop by my Mom’s house once a week. I make sure her finances are in order and all is well financially. No appreciation.

Sometimes, I just wish I wasn’t even born. Not feeling sorry for myself. It’s just I do not like to be disrespected like that. It’s my mother, what am I supposed to do… Just a f~~~ed up situation.

Parents can be unintentionally cruel like that sometimes. They think about their desires without giving yours the proper credit. I would seriously sit down with her and tell her exactly how you feel and the impact her words have on you. Give her the chance to mend her ways. If she doesn’t, family or no, push back. No one should play with your emotions like that. Hopefully she is unaware of what she is doing to you.

I don't hate women. I just feel better when they're not around.

Oh, I shot back at her, she backed down. However, still, she takes those shots about grand kids here and there. It’s not the first time, then when I shoot back, she starts to cry and back peddle.

Perhaps a little. Not going to say I feel a little sorry for the failure. I was more surprised that a family member would say something like, well, at least his mother has more grand kids and is expanding the family. I just thought, WTF.

Mine lives 10 minutes away and earlier this year I told her and a few others to go play in traffic. It was pretty easy actually.
