There is a story that this cartoon gets all wrong. It is that Gauguin abandoned his family and took off for Tahiti. This is wrong.

In real life, Gauguin’s wife left him and took their four children to her home town of Copenhagen, Denmark. Up until then he was a devoted husband and father — and his paintings and sculptures show it.

Gauguin was devastated. He went chasing after her in hopes of winning her back. Her family gave him the boot: You’re not good enough for our daughter. Leave town or else.

Only after being in effect divorced and having his children literally torn away from him, only then did he visit Tahiti and do that wild stuff he got up to with Van Gogh (as seen in the famous movie Lust for Life).

A prime example of revisionist history.

Walter Benjamin once said “History is written by the victors”.

Clearly women, or at least progressive liberals, have won in so far as setting the stage about the nature of men.

You can challenge them all that you want to with facts and supporting documentation but it won’t amount to a damn.

It’s what they want to believe.

"I asked you a question. I didn't ask you to repeat what the voices in you head are telling you" ~ Me. ........Yes I'm still angry.
