PST Please use the TEXT tab when composing a post (at the far right of the compose window). Strange characters can break forum threads – and even the navigation. Just fixed another recent example. If this persists, we will remove the visual editor entirely.

I read that about using the ‘text’ button, and still, make a few posts in ‘visual’ mode without even thinking about it. This is my first post in ‘text’ mode. Yeah, get rid of that other thang.

I am reluctantly forced to admit I like the visual editor’s ability to re-size images. That is all.

The site went down a while ago. Some of my bon mots were lost irrevocably. Alas, posterity is the less rich for the loss. That said, I am not a fan of the Visual editor.

Aside from the attempt to take down our site last night shortly after 1:16 AM…. we have noticed maybe 3 or 4 times since the July 5-8 malfunction that certain content in posts (like strange characters) can “break” the loop of replies. But there is no consistency to it.

So not to get too technical….. when someone copies and pastes something from a Word document (or an online article or something) into the visual editor of the compose window, it MAY go into “pending” or “spam” if it looks like gibberish. We will review it and release it later. But once in a blue moon, it breaks the loop. So when you search or query the most recent replies, it gets stuck. This has even f~~~ed up the navigation on occasion so we’re probably going to loose the visual editor entirely.

It would ensure that whatever is in the text box is “raw” plain text and that will take care of that.

We were actually working on that last night, until someone attempted to f~~~ with us, so we had to deal with that.

Amazing you would say that, because I actually do a spectacular voice imitation of Jack Nicholson. As a matter of fact, I was thinking about doing a MGTOW video….. AS Jack Nicholson when a friend of mine heard it (who knows about the site). He’s been bugging me about it.
