I’ve been think about why I like video games, why they tend to be more popular among men. I realized there seem to be some common characteristics that they share.

1 – Building – All these games are designed for a player to acquire gear of some sort to better improve our character(s). With time, he get’s better and better. The harder it is to achieve, the more satisfaction it brings.

2 – Individuality – Along with building, the better games allow you to play the way you want with many ways of achieving success.

3- Social – The best games allow you compete against others and compete with others. There’s actual winning and losing. Like the put above, individuality still matters as your team is better when people play different roles.

In many ways, this reflects what men like to do in real life. I love to build things, I like my individuality, and I like to be social, particularly in a competitive environment. On the other hand, women tend to tear your life apart, they want to break your sense of individually, and they don’t want you hanging with your friends. So why do men love video games and women hate them.

For those of us me who don’t think video games has much appeal. I get that. You aren’t buiding anything real, the perceived individuality isn’t real, and the socializing isn’t real. It’s not real. But it isn’t open to a woman destroying it either. I find myself wanting a bit of both life of building and such in the real world as well as escaping to video games.

Ok. Then do it.

And requiring the man to save the woman even though the woman was perfectly capable of saving herself or making a smarter decision to not be in that situation in the 1st place

Don’t forget gambling. Most AAA games have gambling in them these days with their boxes of random s~~~.
