Since it’s so hard to find an unbiased news source these days, here is the announcement from the horse’s mouth:
https://www.c-span.org/video/?457270-1/president-trump-announces-agreement-end-government-shutdown&live=
According to the mainstream press, the bill referred to was signed into law this afternoon."Once you’ve taken care of the basics, there’s very little in this world for which your life is worth deferring." -David Hansson. "It’s not when women are mean or nasty that anything is out of the ordinary. It’s when they are NICE to you that you have to be on high alert..." -Jackinov.
Trump is a clown and an NYC real estate thug. Guys like him operate like a mafia. They use ‘bullying tactics’ to do their business. IM sorry if any of you thought you could believe in him. He does not have the best interests of the country in his mind. All he cares about his own brand. He will drown this nation if it meant the name “Trump” would be plastered all over Russia and he would profit.
He is NOT your president!!! He does NOT care about this nation! He is a globalist more than you understand!
I rarely dive into politics here but damn this just has to be said…

Almost everyone doesn’t get what’s really happening. Schumer has this idiotic look on his face talk and talking about how maybe Trump has learned his lesson. Bulls~~~!
People really think that Trump just threw up his hands, decided not to give up on his State of the Union address, and then say “I give up” for no particular reason and flushing his Presidency down the toilet.
Doesn’t it make a lot more sense that, in fact, he hasn’t given up at all?
I submit that Trump is simply positioning himself to have a stronger argument when he inevitably has to declare a national emergency. The Supreme Court, which is mostly conservative and by case law gives wide latitude to Presidents declaring a national emergency, will look at two factors: 1. Is there an emergency – and – 2. Did the president have clear alternatives.
By first giving every opportunity for a settlement of this issue, Trump will appear to have had little alternative. As to the emergency, he’s agreed to the three week funding so that the various programs will run out of money at about the same time. He may even decide to give the State of the Union address as he announces the emergency. Liberals can then put that in their pipe and smoke it.
We just don't realize life's most significant events while they're happening. Back then, I thought, "Well, there'll be other days". I didn't realize that that was the only day. - "Moonlight" Graham

I’m really feeling bad today for our American bros here! It looks like he big guy blinked. And so many of you had said that it would never happen… 🙁

The issue is most people cannot think beyond the end of their nose. They cannot think several steps ahead. For them it always needs to be instant gratification. If something does not look exactly right all the time they think there is an immediate problem.
Having to deal with such shortsighted people drove me to this forum.
I am on the fence on this three week extension. But people I listen to and respect seem to think this is a good long term move by President Trump, so I am taking a “wait and see” approach.

Anonymous1I’m disappointed. This made Trump look weak.
It sounds more like the “Wall” is going to be a fence instead.
I was really looking forward to seeing The Great Wall of America. I would have liked to see a Great Wall so mighty and indestructible people would come and marvel at it a thousand years from now. Look at any great country from history and usually the only thing left standing is a few of their walls. That is the only thing that stands the test of time to show they even existed. When America collapses and fades into the history books what will be left? Nothing but our Garbage Dumps.
I’m disappointed. This made Trump look weak.
Indeed. Whatever pragmatic ‘strategy’ that Trump might be employing it is the impression of weakness that’s gonna stick…

My opinion, Trump is responsibly mitigating problems created by an extended standoff with Nancy Pelosi, cleaning up the mess on the floor so to speak.
The media will spin it as Trump looking bad, but they always do this. Long term, what will be remembered are the actions that remain which will likely be a wall and the President’s persistence in addressing current problems. Nothing weak about that at all."Once you’ve taken care of the basics, there’s very little in this world for which your life is worth deferring." -David Hansson. "It’s not when women are mean or nasty that anything is out of the ordinary. It’s when they are NICE to you that you have to be on high alert..." -Jackinov.
I don’t think Trump really had much choice on this. He had Republican support for the first shutdown, but he was practically standing alone after that point. The Senate was going to push through the spending bill whether Trump vowed too or not. Republicans don’t want a wall anymore than democrats do, as it would p~~~ off their corporate donors. They are only playing this game to appear like they want a wall, but will cave the second they can do it without it looking like it was intentional.
It’s exactly why we still have outrageous government spending. It’s why the conservative agenda has never been really addressed until Trump came along. He has no corporate donors. He only needs the Republicans because he’s powerless without a party.
What concerns me more than anything is that Trump will not be able to accomplish enough in 8 years, and there really is no successor. Nothing Trump has done so far won’t be undone by the next democrat or republican president.
Ok. Then do it.
