Just found the above link, you have to get 6 out of 10 correct. The President is right, we might want to put a little more effort into these questions.

    How did you do?

Incomplete bro. I’m an immigrant and I’ve taken the test. 6 out of 10 you are correct BUT that is out of a possibile 100 different questions they could as. There is not a total of 6.

Thanks JVB for the personal insight. From your perspective was it an easy test?

I, like all other American’s, received these answers through elementary and middle school back in the day, so of course it seems easy to get the basic history and geography questions correct.

Thanks again for the viewpoint and correction.

Personally bro I’m not very good at remembering things like a parrot so I did find remembering all the answers quiet challenging. You do make a good point about learning a lot of this in the American school system. I got my first 4 in a row correct and he was done with me on to the next guy. I definitely think immigration into the states needs to be tightened up, but also made easier for the right people. It took me 8 years and 13k and I came with money, opened a business and employed 12 legal Americans.

also made easier for the right people

Absolutely JVB, hope that this would be part of the vetting process. There is no reason not to make the process easier for those coming to the United States for the right reasons and who have the resources to help both themselves and the nation.

Thanks for making the move and taking a chance on America.

    How did you do?

Ten out of ten, but the questions were grammar school level at best. When do we celebrate Independence Day? What are the first three words of the Constitution? What happened on 11 September 2001? A question about the powers reserved to the states seemed hard, but actually wasn’t.

I looked over the 100 question bank the test is drawn from too. They weren’t much better.

And you only need to answer 60%? That’s a D, a failing grade.

Three of my 4 grandparents were immigrants, but the type of immigrants the US received before 1965 and the treasonous Hart-Celler Act. The bar needs to be set much higher again and we need to begin mass deportations of recent immigrants and their children. The 14th Amendment was meant to grant citizenship to former slaves and not create the “anchor baby” loophole.

As a naturalized citizen, I do find the questions are pretty easy. All you need to do is memorize like a parrot and forget 3 days later. This do contribute to dumb American voting for dumb policy.

There are cautionary tales that I heard is you try to not be a smart ass while taking the test (like use more contemporary interpretation of history such as the causes of civil war is more about Left vs Right rather than slavery). Otherwise, the officer are going to press you on various stuff and possibly failed you.

Another scary thing I heard was there are classes you take that guaranteed passing citizenship test. My cousin told me that there was this old lady who is illiterate (both English and her native tongue) was able to pass the test after taking those classes….
