Im a little sceptical because a women is involved in it. This type of film should be written, produced, and marketed by men only. I just dont trust women in men issues.

Never lose sight of what brought you here.

This movie has an interesting history behind it. Read the Encyclopedia Dramatica article on David Futrelle for more info.

“Fatrelle is as opposed to being challenged on his bigoted worldview as he is to exercise and a healthy diet, so when feminist Cassie Jaye wanted to do an objective documentary (You know, actual journalism, instead of just writing a LiveJournal about how much you hate men) David went ape-s~~~.
It all started when award winning, pro-gay, pro-feminist director Cassie Jay decided to make a movie about MRAs. However, when her usual sponsors wouldn’t front her the money unless she promises to make it a hit piece, Jaye was forced to go to KickStarter. Here is where David comes in. During her research, David was suggested to her as an interviewee to counterpoint the MRAs, but when he realized this isn’t going to be the propaganda film he wanted, David decided to “convince” her with dossier of out-of-context posts from r/TheRedPill, which he assured her are far superior as insight into the MRA community than her 2+ years of research and over 100 hours worth of recorded interviews. When this failed, David followed up with a vaguely threatening email (this would not be the first person he implicitly threatened), trying to change her mind. But the plot thickened as, just as it seemed that the project would not get funded, Milo Yiannopoulos stepped in to write an article about it, causing the project to get more than twice the intended in mere days, with the help of angry MRAs, funding it just to spite the feminists. Unhappy with this project being funded and with the help of the GamerGate f~~~~~ he hates most, and wielding the lowest standard for evidence known to man, Futrelle launched a personal attack against Jaye, accusing her of being a shill for the MRAs (they have no actual control over her or her film once she already has their money) and accusing her of faking her awards because he confused it with a separate film festivals and then attempted to paint his own ignorance as a deliberate attempt to mislead him (not the first time this has happened).
All-in-all, his actions were only successful in causing more drama that only helped her get Jaye’s funding, while simultaneously making this feminist hate other feminists, thereby making sure that what might have been a fair and balanced movie will now skew in favor of the MRA’s he is trying to destroy.
    Bravo.”
    – Encyclopedia Dramatica

Short Version: David Futrelle tried to get this documentary shut down when he realized that the film would be more than just a one-sided hit piece. In doing so, he only got the film more attention.

Oh look, more attention-whoring c~~~s want to join the bandwagon.

    Women ruin everything they touch.

I’ll reconsider my position when c~~~s march to the legislature demanding alimony, no fault divorce to be repealed.

It raises important men’s rights issues — most of which can be sidestepped by not getting married or getting tangled up in a “relationship” in the first place.

I am all for men’s rights advocates doing their political thing. Good luck men.

On the other hand, I deeply resent being called nasty names because I won’t join their marches or send them money or whatever. I am on strike, but it is the kind of strike that lets me stay at home and do things of my choosing.

I think that we can all agree on one thing: this film will make us more well-known.

For a long time, the manosphere has grown more and more popular online. This film could be the “tipping point” that finally makes us well-known IRL. This may be good or bad.

I don’t think that we need to worry about the documentary making us look bad though. I doubt that Mrs. Jaye will want to ruin our reputation after her nasty experience with Futrelle and seemingly positive experience with good ol’ Uncle Elam.

It appears to be focussed on mra, not mgtow.

The film maker is a feminist. Seriously, that’s an objective assessment.

And notice the amount of ‘but’s’ when the women speak about men having rights.

I saw nothing in the clip that was devoted to presenting facts and evidence. Looks like a ‘he says she says’ debate, filmed by a feminist. Has all the hallmarks of a smear.

If they try to start smearing mgtow, they need to be careful because making malicious false accusations against a group is a crime of harassment and as we ghost and stay stealth and aren’t mra’s there’s nothing to accuse us of.

I think this feminist propaganda will backfire though like it did when the BBC tried it. Men will google red pill and mgtow numbers will grow again.

Miss Piggy (a.k.a. Paul Elam) was the first guest — and he is the champ MRA. Most of the rest were MRAs too. So, yes, MRA-biased it is.

(Full disclosure: Moi spaced out and stopped watching at some point, and therefore missed whoever came along in the last half).

As for MRAs, somebody has to attend and testify at the committee hearings, political rallies, etc. I’ve opted out, so the MRAs have that political crap all to themselves as far as I’m concerned.

    We’re lightyears ahead of MRA/MRM/AVFM!

They’re still stirring the coffee feminists have been p~~~ing in for a half century.

I smashed the pot then swept up all the broken glass and mixed it in their lunch meat, for when they make their own sandwiches with our stolen lunch meat.

We’ve gone from walking on broken glass to having them chew on broken glass.

There’s 50 years of broken glass and I’m sure as f~~~ not going to be the one to eat it.

I’m not “fighting” for my rights! F~~~ that! This is much deeper, I’m positioning the water they thought was safe to drink.

I didn’t start the gender war, but I’m sure a f~~~ going to end it!

There is something seriously wrong with that dude.

Here’s my favorite section of the quote I posted.

    Way to mansplain Mr. Futrelle!
    LOL

Your opinions matter more than her personal experience? Mansplaining! Check your privilege!

Furthermore, quite a few manosphere dudes hate r/theredpill. In fact, r/theredpill and r/mensrights seem to have a rather hostile relationship most of the time. They hate each other.

When the men’s section music plays it’s invoking a feel of skepticism, but when the feminist section music plays, it’s evoking a reassuring feel!

I don’t need any more proof to know that this documentary will be full of s~~~.

I became a MGTOW because this was the only logical solution for a man survive in a world replete of gynocentrism and biased against men!
