Ok brother’s. Here’s my rant for the day. What happened to the union’s that were formed in the first place? I’ve been in the union 17 years. And to me it seems it has lost the real reason it was formed to begin with. Let’s take today for example. My so called and I quote ” union brother” sits there and f~~~s me for 12 hrs. Purposely. He deliperlty slams the parts that run on a finger chain so hard that it jumps the fingers. When that happens I got to run down there and pry a thousand pound product back straight. You let him know whats he’s doing wrong. And then it turns into a p~~~ing match. And I know it’s on purpose because when the relief mans there he does the job fine. It just burns my ass that this little young little punk ass wants to sit around all day thinking he’s a big bad ass always saying well I don’t give a f~~~. C~~~~~~~~~s like that are the cancer killing the american workforce. All because he wants to suck the companys dick nice and deep. I’ve been having this situation for months. I’m really beginning to think the unions are f~~~ed when 90 percent of the brothers are against you and sucking the companys dick. If my state goes with the right to work act. I’m thinking it may be the way to go in this day and age. I done refused to put up with it said to the forman it needs to end. I think come monday my ass is going to first aid them the lawyers office. If I’m not in jail. Because I’m at my breaking point. And this motherf~~~er may end up with severe head injuries. I can’t let somebody f~~~ me to the point where I’m injuried and laid up for months. I’m f~~~ed if this happens. Do you really think anyone in this companies going to come help me out while I’m down for month’s. I know this don’t relate to no women issues but, what the f~~~ is wrong with this younger group of guys in this generation. Is it because their c~~~ moms taught them no respect for your fellow man. I know I’m about to give this little magina a good valuable lesson on it. Well thanks for listening.

I worked with a guy like that some years back, no professional respect for anything he did but arrogant as all get-out. Came back from a Maccas run saying how if he had kids he’d never let them work there – it’d be beneath them – and his own work ethic was far below the 15yo who made his hamburger. I don’t think it’s a union thing or a modern thing – some people are just assholes.

Yeah I agree. I’m a younger guy with 13 years union time…started when I was 18. From my perspective the older guys were f~~~ing us a lot harder than we f~~~ed them in any way. The pension fund was 40% funded my last year there…that means the people collecting right now did a s~~~ty job managing it and/or didn’t pay enough into it to pay themselves the promised benefits. Do they cut their pay outs because they were the ones that f~~~ed up? Nope…they cut accrual rates for current workers to keep paying themselves inflated pensions because the retirees and near retirees out number the guys with 20+ years to go.

Getting out of the unions was one of the best thing I’ve ever done…why do I want to bust my ass to pay for some other guy to get a cozy retirement and when its my turn I get to collect half what he did while paying a higher % of my total compensation into the fund them him? No f~~~ing way. Worst deal ever. Every time I hear someone bitch about the decline of pensions in America I smile while I watch my 401k balance slowly build up. They should really change the law so if a pension is 40% funded it only can legally pay out 40% of promised benefits…but this would never fly with how much power government unions wield, since most of them are “funded” at joke levels and just milk the tax payer for more and more each year. Its clearly the design of the system to keep kicking the can down the road to the next generation, but now that the boomers are starting retire and the economy is in the s~~~ter, there isn’t enough money to kick the can down the road another generation…it should be interesting to see how things go over the next 5-20 years as the pension debt bomb slowly explodes.

It’s the only way to go. Unions only function when they have to justify their existence to their members. As soon as union membership and union dues become mandatory, the union stops being accountable to its members. It becomes just another collectivist power using the workers for its own benefit.

sometimes unions can save you ,
    sometimes they just don’t.
    .
violence in the workplace will get you fired,
    union or not…
bang in sick on monday brother..
let some of the anger subside ..
or you may wind up with no job and bail to pay.

Human nature. Idealistic democracies always seem to devolve into fascist tyranny. It must be built into our species; that’s all I can think of.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

    +1….because this sum’s it up.

I am union too, for now, and have only been in for about 2 1/2 years. And of these very short 2 1/2 years?…. I learned I am a replaceable number….one at the expense of whatever corporation I “work” for…..and that word “work” is a funny one, in many respects rather obscure, because often times the line between “corporation” and “union” is so blurred that I might as well be looking into a room full of mirrors trying to figure out who my real boss is and what his intentions are….

And like all good bosses, they seek to expand their business through “property”…..and this is where is gets real confusing as when a union begins acquiring actual hard assets, much like a company, the question comes to mind: Whats the difference?

I missed this….One of the apprentices “lost his temper” and smashed in one the foreman’s heads with a hammer a few years ago…before I was a member.

He went to jail and is probably being butt f~~~ed right now. On the bright side the foreman are not allow to mess with employees in any way shape or form. The negative is that they are not allowed to criticize the employees and will just lay you off over anything….. The positive to that is that they will lay you off over anything.

It’s all in your perspective…..that is the best perspective.

The last contract vote I had as a union member, a lot of us younger guys wanted to vote the union out. The bottom line is unions are a business…most of the grievances people filed never had any resolution because they would require union resources…if it amounted to any more than a 5 minute sit down with management, a union member, and a union rep, it didn’t get any attention even when it was a blatant violation of contract…yet they never seemed to have a lack of resources when it came to collecting my union dues and admin dues, and they seemed to be able to come up with millions of dollars every year to donate to democrats.

What good is it having some worthless union rep making 100k a year via driving around in a Cadillac, being paid with money skimmed from your paycheck, when a simple complaint about route bidding or following the overtime rules gets no resolution?

Plus related back to OP…union members can’t file a grievance against other union members. You can work with a giant s~~~ bag who does nothing and if the company allows it to happen, there is nothing you can do. You can bitch to your steward, bitch to the guy, bitch to coworkers…if the company doesn’t want to do anything the guy is untouchable. I know in the place I worked we had a couple s~~~ bags, but the company wouldn’t do anything because we had enough decent people to pick up the slack and it was easier to just ignore them than to follow through with write ups and eventual termination, or to wait for one big f~~~ up and just walk them off site..like hitting a coworker or getting caught on camera stealing.

Unions are the reason nothing gets produced in America anymore. They wanted more and more and finally the capitalists said f~~~ you and the capital went away.

The “good job” = a job that pays you more then you’re worth.

    Easy come Easy go.

    F~~~ easy. Embrace hard.

Work like a 3rd world immigrant and be grateful for the opportunity.

Unions are only as strong as their members, the CFMEU in Australia is the countries strongest trade union because they’ve got huge numbers on sites, majority union, the more they have the more power they have to negotiate better wages and conditions.

    http://www.theaustralian.com.au/federal-election-2016/federal-election-2016-cfmeu-labourers-on-150k-a-year/news-story/008876b1e4d6474c0641d23e5ec3a910?nk=20ff0378a552fc26022c4fe19238a9bb-1472313977

We’ve got our own problems but the average worker in Australia has a better lifestyle thanks to unions fighting in the past.

Regardless of how hard you work and how least you get paid, you’ve got rocks in your head if you think you can compete with China and other 3rd world s~~~holes who are taking manufacturing work from us who will work for a bowl of rice a month.
