I am in a nostalgic mood tonight. Something that happens when you reach your 50’s, and for some even before that. I find myself listening to some music from my youth. The music that helped me get through some rough times.
From the comments on YouTube, most of these songs are unheard of or forgotten by young people, unless some movie or TV show used it, and then instead of giving their thoughts on the music, it is just: “Ghostbusters 11 brought me here!” etc.
So for old-timers like myself, you probably heard this stuff before, but the younger guys might not have. (I went for some more obscure stuff here.)
Everyone feel free to share your thoughts on this music, or add your own to the thread.
Enjoy!
ELO – When MTV was ushered in with “video killed the radio stars” this is exactly the type of highly talents musicians they were talking about. Ugly dudes with long hair and beards, part engineers, part nerd, and ALL MUSICIAN.

Thanks Blade. Great song. Probably not too obscure because of it being used in commercials, but still great. PS Don’t die, we need you here.
For some reason I always think that is Donovan when I hear it…Hey, this song is a little on the mangina side, but I loved it as a kid, so WTF:

The Hollies – He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother
"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
Now this song we can relate to
