Anytime I read an article written by a woman that contains both complaints and questions, I assume it was written by a post wall single woman…but one who is so recently post wall that she doesn’t yet completely realize it.

Between ages 15 and 25, most men’s brains are so awash in hormones that their behavior is completely predictable for a woman. She predicts that men of that age will be continuously interested in sex at any price, and at any level of risk. And for the most part, women are correct in that prediction. Women may or may not have complaints about that behavior, but they have ZERO confusion about it. There is no mystery. There is no surprise.

Their mistake is in assuming that that situation will last forever. When things change at about age 30, there are complaints from those women no longer enjoying all the benefits of all that testosterone washing over younger men’s brains. And those complaints are no surprise (to us). Women aged 15 to 25 who are even remotely attractive will get attention, along with all kinds of other unearned benefits. That they would start to complain when those benefits disappear is completely predictable.

But it’s all the questions and confusion they display that is the main indicator of their assumption that those benefits would last forever. They not only took that attention for granted, they took for granted that it would ALWAYS be there. And then, without really any warning, it’s gone.

As with any loss, denial is first, then bargaining (which is what they are doing when they ask questions about what the problem is, where all the good men are, what’s wrong with men, what needs to be done about men…). These articles with these questions are part of the bargaining: the attempt to ‘fix’ the problem and restore things to the way they were when they were 21 and the center of male attention.

When bargaining fails, anger results. In another few years, this woman will be writing articles criticizing and shaming men MUCH more harshly. She will not be relating stories of sitting at the bar and getting no attention. She will be venting rage after finally realizing that all that attention is gone and nothing she can do is ever going to bring it back.

As I read the article as written, it seems that for now, she is aware that something has changed, but she is still trying to “fix” it.

I put her single, childless, at an age somewhere between 28-35, and almost certainly heavier or otherwise less attractive than she was 50-10 years ago, which was probably her peak SMV.
