    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3556901/Obese-allowed-sue-office-fattism-Leading-judge-calls-legislation-stop-discrimination-bias-against-non-ideal-weight.html

    Where to start with this?

The fact that since 1993 the percentage of obese people in the UK has almost doubled from 14 to 25%?

The fact that while well intended the majority of discrimination legislation already in existence is now being used to actively discriminate against the non protected individual?

Or the fact that outside of the minority of cases where there is a legitimate medical reason which will already be covered under existing disability laws being obese is a lifestyle choice, one which leaves the person choosing to live such a lifestyle less able to function in the workplace.

I’ve worked with people who by choice are so fat they can’t climb a single flight of stairs without gasping like a landed fish when they get to the top, how are such people of any use to anything outside of an office environment?

Bloody hell. Legal standing for people who won’t stop stuffing their face with chips and biscuits?

Merica has even a worse obesity percentage, and I can forsee a similar thing happening here.

Amen to that. People keep saying we’re “on the wrong side of history” because this s~~~ is getting more acceptable. What about when the barbarians are at the gates? That tells you, history is about to have a correction.

The fact that since 1993 the percentage of obese people in the UK has almost doubled from 14 to 25%?

I love how the response is, “let’s stop discriminating against fatties!” not, “let’s do something about this F~~~ING OBESITY EPIDEMIC!!!!!!!”

    Pass the non-fat popcorn.

They’re still trying to slap a handicap label onto obesity? What it comes down to is choice. Your ethnicity is not a choice. You also do not get to choose your gender. Those with true handicaps like MD, MS or perhaps a mutation where you are missing a limb, is certainly not a choice. Obesity IS a choice. Yes there are certain medical conditions that can cause excessive weight gain but those aside, no one puts a f~~~ing gun to your head and forces you to eat. No one shackles you down and prevents you from getting up and moving around.
If these fat f~~~s put as much effort into controlling their weight as they do in trying to justifying it, we wouldn’t have the obesity problem spiraling out of control like it is.
I too can see this happening in the USA.

“Judge Rostant, who is training director for the Employment Tribunals of England and Wales, also warned larger people are paid less on average than thinner colleagues.”

Arguably fat people are less productive. i use to work with a a guy that weighed in at about the same weight as a small hippo.

he had type 2 diabetes and would fall asleep at his desk every 20 mins and had to constantly be woken up by colleagues.

you could hear him snoring from the other end of the office.

Overweight workers could soon have the power to sue their colleagues for cruel remarks about their size

There is fat than there is obese, in which case the human body will file a domestic violence lawsuit with the heart to shut down in protest.

I couldn’t really care if someone is obese, but if they try to slap a label on it and call it a disability, that’s where I have a problem with it.

This stupid piece of s~~~ called the fat acceptance movement is what’s wrong with the western world. It glorifies fat people. And it tries to pander to them like they pander to women, LGBTs, and feminists. It’s retarded to say the least.

These obese f~~~ing land whales deserve to drown in their own fat if they think this kind of s~~~ is acceptable.

You can lose body fat and gain muscle. That would benefit your health. But, instead, feminists would rather be f~~~ing lazy and not change anything at all.

The only thing they’re willing to lift is a 2 ton piece of lard and cake into their mouths.

HAES and any other kind of fat acceptance is a big load of f~~~ing bulls~~~. Anyone who tells you that being overweight has no affect on your health, stamina, libido etc are delusional. Strap a backpack with a hundred pounds of rocks in it and walk around with for the whole day and tell me there is no difference.

I’m not saying one should be discriminated but the choice should be left to an employer’s discretion if they feel that an overweight individual would not be suitable. Remember the s~~~storm over Abercombie & Fitch regarding the hiring of only the people in shape?

In some ways however, I do sympathise. I’ll point out that I was super morbidly obese at one point. Barely a year ago I was 500 lbs. I’ve since dropped to 300 thanks to surgery which I paid for out of my own pocket. What lead me to such extremes was a combination of arrogance, bad habits, ill discipline and an unwillingness to change. If these people would just ACCEPT the fact that they have an eating problem, it could help. Get a psychiatrist, a dietician, fitness instructor, whatever. If you need help getting someone to smack the fork out of your hands, GET IT. It’s sometimes a deadly cycle of I eat when I’m sad and I’m sad when I’m eat.

However, it has since bastardized into body acceptance instead of taking responsibility. It’s all mind games. Mind games man. Even with the surgery that has permanently affected my ability to feel hungry, I still struggle mentally to stop putting things in my face. It’s not a disability. It’s just mind games.
