UberHop is providing rides during rush hour in certain parts of Toronto. Note the fair is $5 per person not for 5 people like I thought. Personally I think it’s too expensive unless you don’t have time to wait.

To me, both of these methods are just temporary short term solutions. I think really they need to re invent the whole system of transit and move to something like a high speed transit system that doesn’t use the road but perhaps its own tunnel. Canadians spend way too much time in vehicles and the volume of people seems like they are always driving and everything is takes so much time to travel to and fro , maybe because it is volume of traffic or just distance.

Competition is good. Govt owned monopolies need to be reminded just who it is they really work for.
That said, I await the day when I can get into a class which will teach me how to teleport through force of will alone .

It’s funny I have biked about 24 kilometers from my place to Toronto. People are shocked I biked that far when in reality it isn’t that much. I have walked 7 miles to get some things done vs taking the bus. The city doesn’t make it easy to ride a bike in Toronto because there isn’t enough spots to lock up a bike, even with that I have no problems walking downtown Toronto. To be honest 7 miles is nothing but hey people these days are incredulity lazy.
