According to a Report appearing on NPR, and published by the National Center for Health Statistics, the U.S. birth rate is at a historical 30 year low.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) stathes that the birthrate for nearly every group of women of reproductive age in the U.S. reflected a sharp drop. It’s down 2 percent from 2016. That’s 60.2 births per 1000 women ages 15 to 44, and the largest decline since 2010… so the decline is accelerating.

Honestly i need this explained more then it is. Does this mean we are not at replacement levels in general or just that it is low for now? low for now tends to change depending but i know in cases where the birth rates just drops and never really returns.
