Trump is at fault for signing the bill,…not as much for the situation.

You do not understand. President Trump did not want them to override his veto. This would start something that would destroy the nation. The establishment would all but openly admit to be one party and have two thirds votes in the congress and senate to pass bad laws the President’s veto would not stop.

IDK, republicans as a whole are damned spin less. You have to show your hand on an veto over ride. That would play big back home. Trump is the people’s man. No matter how hard the media tries to sway that. With some of the old main stays already fearing the next wave and getting out now, the rest would not show their hand. Would not have the votes.

I agree that there was no way they would have the votes to override a veto. This was a carefully crafted plan to do what the deep state has been trying to do since election day…come up with a wedge to drive between the president and the base. Everything up to now has failed but this could separate the base from the President.

There are a lot of rage quits on Trump on Breitbart comments because of his signing.

Ok, if Trump does veto. Then what? This battle will drag along and along for a long time while everyone will blame him for shutting down the government.

Trump was set up by both the D and R. He knows he cannot win this time; better cut the loss to at least get the fund he wants for the military.

So many right wingers got so mad, but be realistic, you win some and you lose some. The battle isn’t over yet.

    This. Exactly this.

I don’t think so—I think bait was dangled in front of him and he took it—and the point was to alienate the base from the President.

The point is to destroy the American people. This is gone behind just getting President Trump removed. Listen to the globalists, progressives, SJWs. They want the American people whom voted for President Trump to be ground into the dirt and erased from existence. They censor, economically harm, and the SJWs openly assault pro-American voters. The only people in DC whom gives a damn about the American people is President Trump and some of his cabinet.

This is a spending bill, not a repeal of the tax cut, nor amnesty. It is a loss, but not a major loss.

The congress bought that spending bill by buying votes with list of pork projects. This is the type of shortsighted greed where by these fools might someday tried to vote to give themselves all the wealth in the U.S.

    But, that is another matter.

Today was not the end of the world. If you believe it is, then you need some perspective on what is happening in the world.

For example there is this: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-03-23/china-says-us-warship-sailing-near-spratly-islands-severe-provocation

But, what should really concern everyone is this: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-03-22/iran-pakistan-corridor-geopolitical-powder-keg

China now has an inland route into the heart of the Middle East. And China accomplished this not by force of arms but by diplomacy.

Should China decide to invade the Middle East with their military, they can use this route which bypasses sea routes and air routes, which side steps any U.S. or Russian military threats of stopping such a military movement China.

You have to show your hand on an veto over ride.

I agree that there was no way they would have the votes to override a veto.

In Congress, the vote was 256 to 167. They only needed 290 votes for the two-thirds override.

In the Senate the vote 65 to 32. They only need two more votes for the two-thirds override.

Trump just lost his base supporters. We will lose the House and Senate in November and I expect they will impeach him by January 2019. It is over….

Trump had a huge Libertarian base, but our presidents seem to all serve the same masters without fail. Everything he campaigned on is has already been thrown out the window, all of it. He seemed the non-interventionist, nothing doing on that front, just signed an increased Military budget, still in Syria, permanently, just like everywhere else… A wall? Nothing doing on that front.

He has very little chance of being reelected, I doubt he gets impeached though, he is being a willing puppet as Israel’s agenda gets furthered at every turn.

THX could you do everyone a favor and NOT highjack this thread with your Israel/Zionist stuff? OK Israel/Zionism IS NOT THE SUBJECT OF THE THREAD…maybe you should read the title of thread. You highjacked my thread last night about England…and somehow you injected your usual problem with Israel.

Look how about being adult for a change and limit yourself to the topic on hand—no one likes to be highjacked. If you want to START a thread with you Israel bashing then hey GO FOR IT knock yourself out; but how about growing up and giving the rest of us on the site a break? We’re tired of your highjacking.

There is a TON of this conspiracy BS going on, where there is some sort of desire to single out some sort of single ethnic group, or collective group, that are conspiring together to destroy the group one is part of by genetics or culture. If it isn’t Jews, it is Muslims. If it isn’t Muslims, it is Mexicans. If it isn’t those it is the Irish or the Catholics, or whatever. It is a whole lot easier to end up saying group X is behind all things, than to try to take ownership, and see the larger picture. The whole entire damn system is now unmanageable, and everyone is scared. The economic system is broken, and there is a crying out for easy answers. The real short answer is that every single basis of all conspiracies show a player in the system. I personally hold none of them can sufficiently do anything about what is going on. But, those who subscribe to a set, are so desperate to recruit for their conspiracy, they will jump in every single place to recruit, hoping they can pull in sufficient numbers to their movement, to affect change. Well, if not that, they can feel smart they have it figured out, while the entire system goes to pot.

Now that I’ve dealt with the child in the room I will return to the topic at hand. To wit the spending bill. Yes this is a catastrophe for the Trump presidency. The ONLY thing Trump had going for him was the conservative/populist base and he just slammed us. The republicans are a goner in the mid-terms, which means impeachment is back on the table.

The situation is such that shutting down the government is seen as a worse option. The thing is that there is this entire lesser evil going on, with a basic line: Who else you going to vote for? I know this sounds bad, but the spawns of Satan democrats are worse. So, you have no choice but to vote for us. Be scared! That line of BS is why you have issues here.

Trump is at fault for signing the bill,…not as much for the situation. 40 to I figure around 60% of republicans hate Trump. Outsider. 99% of the democrats hate the man. The deep state still holds the power.

I suggest everyone who keeps pushing this whole “Deep State” rationalization to justify every single mess up and failure Trump has, end up finding a few things government IS supposed to do as a safeguard against the situation when an unfit person gets into power and may want to end stop bad things happening. There is so much seeing conspiracies, and blaming them, that if this mindset is acted upon, all safeguards against a dictator will be removed, and you create a dictatorship. I consider this worse than a bunch of government lifers safeguarding their jobs, and their meal ticket. This safeguarding is the usually government inefficiencies. The whole removing these safeguards makes America no longer a Democracy, and this longing for an emperor is not in line with anything fitting America.

Trump just lost his base supporters. We will lose the House and Senate in November and I expect they will impeach him by January 2019. It is over….

Where else they going to go? The whole thing is to throw out every single principle you have, in order to avoid a lesser evil.

Why the hell would a Libertarian be pro-Trump, unless it is to be anti-Democrat? Trump ran on nationalism, not personal freedom. He pays lip service to whatever will get him support, abut doesn’t have a single damn principle to stand on, outside of maybe “winning at all costs”. And this “winning at all costs” is winning little while costing everything. It is all now a matter of stopping a greater evil, than actually being in positive support of anything.

There is this fear filter bubble going on, which causes all principles to be thrown out.
