The same would apply with the emperor of Japan or even the King of Spain. You would not see Felipe VI bow to Elizabeth II because are royalty.

The point being that (regardless of what he thinks of the Queen) Trump did not have to be there. He met the Queen on his own accord. If you do not intend to show respect or follow etiquette, just don’t show up. That would have been the classier thing to do.

If someone you don’t respect invites you to their home for dinner, you don’t go there and take a s~~~ on their dinning room table. You just decline the invite.

In any case, I don’t think Trump deliberately intended to snub the Queen. Like others have said, he just didn’t care.
