Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican that the Republican establishment hated. He created the “Great White Fleet” but also the National Parks. He was pro-union when corporations had children working for less than .05 per hour. In fact, most Unions in the USA were formed under TDR, including the Teamsters. His stance got him shot but he was too tough to die. He was very much pro-gun as a hunter and military leader.
He took on the robber-barons as he promised he would.

I see much of the same with President Trump. If you are a hardcore Republican, I have some bad news for you. If you are a leftist, the news is even worse. This President dares to put America and those that live here first, not political parties. He has shown more b~~~~ than any president since Teddy Roosevelt. I expect disagreement but I stand my ground. He was the first Republican for president I ever voted for. But should the G.O.P. abandon Trump, I will leave the G.O.P.

Teddy Roosevelt was considered to be a traitor to his class. This is why the people loved him. Let’s not forget that he was criticized for suggesting and building the Panama Canal. Kinda like Trump is being criticized for wanting to build a border wall.
