I put a thread up here a while ago asking if Trump was screwing over his voter base but the answer to that is a big fat NO….

I still support the President but I am disappointed in the following:

    a) his tax reduction bill has not been passed,
    b) Obamacare is STILL with us and has not been uprooted,
    c) he has not deported illegal aliens,
    d) work on the wall is only symbolic
    e) He has backed off his campaign promise to move the US embassy to Jerusalem.
    f) he has bought into the massive spending boon-doggle of “infrastructure” spending.

No I’m not happy and I still think Ted Cruise would have been a better choice.

It hasn’t even been a year yet. He still has plenty of time to work on these things. The Democrat Asshats want to impeded true progress. The true patriots will hold Trump’s feet to the fire!

True BUT the Demon-crats do not hold either house or Senate. They are not in a position to shut down or slow down anything UNLESS they are allowed to. We hold the house/senate/Presidency, there is NO excuse for not getting the agenda enacted and enacted quickly.

True, give it time. When are the house and senate re-elections coming up?

Hell yeah! Fantastic news, especially since both Jorge and Ivanka were pressuring him to stay. Like Pete, I’m not happy with some things Trump has done (or hasn’t done), but for every disappointment there are at least two hurrah moments. Also, regarding deportation, he’s made things easier for immigration officers AND deterred many immigrants who might otherwise have come in here to leech off our system, so I count that as a win.

OK maybe I’m being impatient, and whatever my petty complaints are they are dwarfed by the possibility of Hitlery having been elected. If she had been elected my complaint would have been: “There are federal troops and an armored vehicle outside my front door here to confiscate my weapons—” So I will maintain my support for the President and do anything I can to aid him and the agenda.

ICE teams have been doing sweeps in new York City.
    More than ever.
Less illegals on the streets here already.

Not entirely sure about the infrastructure stuff. But, as I currently work in it i can safely say there is never enough money to go in on those projects. And a lot of what we have in place is passing the 50+ year mark. At least with roads/briges they designed it well and planned for the future but the amount and size of vehicles currently on the road could never have been imagined when it was built. Tractor trailers alone didn’t exist in the size and carry capacity when they designed, puts a strain on structures and is rough on their lifecycle.

Give it another 10 years and a few more bridge collapses and maybe it will start to change.

Dont get me wrong, I’m all for tax cuts and reduced government spending, but infrastructure isn’t where you want to save.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

Hope that someday I may lead others the path I have learned. As Virgil led Dante through Hell.

    The problem is:

    a) The US doesn’t have 2 billion to squander on this and;
    b) This spending NEVER goes to actually improving anything–its just a big fat cash cow used to pay off supporters.
    c) The Demon-crats support this whole-heartedly THAT standing alone should set off warning bells.

Will agree if the money was used “only” for projects it would be better.

There is historical evidence though that improvements to roads can better the economy, in the creation of jobs and reducing shipping costs for both goods and people.

It is a very expensive undertaking, I agree with that. And I’m not even considering things like water treatment or electric. Both those systems are extremely dated too.

Thing is though, there are few places to spend that kind of money where it is practically guaranteed to stay domestically. Can’t really ship a road overseas.

Downside however, is the longer the large projects get pushed back the more expensive they get. Not only labor is increasing but materials costs. And life cycle on a bridge is 50 years so some of the current fixes are more like a bandaid. Everyone just keeps kicking these projects down the line and there will never be money for them.

Do have to wonder what is hidden in the bill the democrats like….. As that is concering.

Hope that someday I may lead others the path I have learned. As Virgil led Dante through Hell.

@pistolpete, let me help you out there sir.

Illegal Immigration is down 67%, ICE has been arresting and deporting people like crazy. So you don’t have to worry about that.

The second quarter GDP has hit 4.0%, we went eight years and never had a quarter with above 3% GDP growth. We hit 4%, after just six months in office.

China has been opened to trade American beef. So now all the cattle farmers have a new source of revenue to sell their products. With increase in demand for American beef, more cattle workers will be needed so their more jobs.

People claiming unemployment has reached the lowest it’s been since 1988.

Consumer confidence in the stock market is the highest it’s been since 2005.

Trump just had a very successful trip overseas, and just today he pulled America out of the Paris Climate Change Agreement. We wasted 2 trillion dollars in that last year. We can keep that money over here now.

General Motors put in a One billion dollar investment into a new plant in Michigan.

Conservative Supreme Court justice picked, making the court 5-4 Conservative. Justice Kennedy is talking about retiring next year and Ginsburg, well, go look at her and come back…By the time Trump is done, the court will be 7-2 Conservative for maybe 2 generations.

The wall is easy to do, you didn’t expect a wall to be put up in six months did you? All we have to do is tax remittances going back into Mexico. The bulk of their economy runs off of money that is made over here. All we have to do is tax that money before it is sent over there and boom, wall built.

I can keep going man, Trump has a lot of accomplishments, and he’s not done yet. Believe me, he’s got this under control. Turn off CNN, MSNBC, and FOX ASAP

I sincerely doubt it. Cruz is behind Rand Paul in quality. Trump has the ability to bring down a LOT of corruption if he wants to.

Gotcha, people have to know that Trump was NOT supposed to win. The media propped him up because they thought he was an easy win. They didn’t count on people getting behind him. Their not afraid of him being what THEY say he is, their afraid of him actually succeeding. If he succeeds, then people won’t have a need for Democrats anymore.

I think he must be doing something right since the liberals will not stop slamming him any chance they get. I don’t pay much attention to the circus though.

I did read that there is somewhat of a labor shortage, jobs to go around but people don’t want to work.

The liberals have blamed Trumps immigration policy, stating that immigrants will be deported and farming production will slow since many laborers are immigrants.

Well I guess the 20-30 year old citizens will have to pick up a shovel and get to work!
