Noise. Public relations. A maternity leave bill of dubious worth, whatever. Static. As the article points out, Trump just defunded American assistance for overseas abortions.

You guys do realize that it would be dumb to NOT include women right. I know we may have our thoughts about women here, but let’s not forget women are the majority of Americans. It would be wise to go after their votes. Now Trump will p~~~ off alot of them when he defunds Planned Parenthood, but the majority of women will see alot of good in whatever Trump and Ivanka do. Gotta be smart politically fellas

I actually love the idea of maternity leave. It reinforces the idea of the role of women – to have and raise children, and run the household. The more women who can be persuaded to leave the workforce, the better. I don’t even care if we pay them a pittance to do it. Men will still be the primary earners, and with most women desiring to be homemakers, they will seek out a man to give them children so they can stay at home and do what they evolved to do. I know many of you are anti-natalist but that’s an unrealistic position to have. Children are going to be born in to this world, should they be born to single mothers and simp fathers on the dole, or be born to subservient women and strong men? That’s the choice we have to make.

while there is a rather good point you make there, there are alternate possibilities like adoption and surrorigate parenting. probably more than i know. just a thought.

When a man looks inside himself and accepts he is no one. When he accepts he is nothing. Only then can he ascend to greatness

Oh look, a tradcon is within our ranks.

‘We’ don’t have any choice to make, because i make my own decisions. I am not anti-nihilist, I am pro-ME. I will not become a slave just so you can have your fantasies fulfilled about the ‘ideal’ way to live.

Isn’t it strange that being a tradcon is the ‘natural’ way to live yet was dismantled in a few decades. Millions of years of evolution undone just like that. Or maybe, just maybe, the nuclear family isnt the holy grail, rather it was a reproductive model for a specific environment. And, with a fundamental change in that environment that model broke down.

Its strange that you’re called the economist yet seem to have no understanding of incentives. Women were not homemakers because it’s the way we ‘evolved’, it is because they had a massive opportunity cost to not be homemakers. Humans don’t have one specific family model to follow; infact one of the most prominent family models was actually a TRIBAL model where the men would hunt for and protect the whole tribe and women would have children with many men from the tribe.
