Trollers – MGTOW counter attack.

I am sure we have all noticed these past few weeks that there has been a fair bit of disharmony in the MGTOW ranks which seems to correlate with an explosion of new users and the choice of topics they write about.

I know that a number of us suspect that some or more of the active new members may actually be tuna/trollers.

I am not going to single out members or threads that have piqued the MGTOW alarm bells but most of us seem to have a handle on who they are and what they post.

So this has got me thinking about what it is the trollers are trying to achieve.

And I think they might be achieving their aims.

Setting up an account and immediately criticing or asking questions designed to provoke an immediate response that ‘incriminates’ us is ineffective and the trollers know it. They are immediately identified and immediately punted.

I think they have cottoned on so employ more long term tactics which are to initially ingratiate themselves then once comfortable and around long enough to work out what sort of characters we appear to be they purposely choose topics to write about that pit member against member.

I have noticed that members who usually get on well siding with some and against others. The worry with that sort of tactic is that it can and potentially will divide us into factions that will potentially create in groups and out groups within our community.

It appears to be happening more and more.

So I am urging all of you who value this place. New members as well as you older members, put your differences to one side.
Recognise the threads that pit member against member and do not engage. We need to unite and show the trollers we are solid. A group they can’t divide.

We can have our differences but we can’t let them boil over into the disharmony that is causing us to lose valuable members.

I beleive that is precisely what the Tuna/trollers want.

They want to see us fight because they can select the content that paints us in a bad light.

They want to see members leave because they dismantle us one member at a time.

The days of coming on here and condemning us may be over because they are adopting longer term strategies. And they know what topics to talk about that will cause the greatest divisions.

They are baiting us and we appear to bite.

We need to let them know that WE know what they are doing. The methods they employ and the aims they hope to achieve.

We can send them a message that tells them we are on to them and we will defeat them.

But to do that me must stop the infighting.

Thank you Doc for this topic, your observations and suggested procedures. You are spot on. Members forget that we have three options to any forum thread: Fight (immediately respond), Flight (ignore it and hope it goes away) or Freeze (take a moment to think about the post, consider what our initial reaction might be and decide then how we want to respond).

On here – freezing is the correct response.
Take a moment to think about not just what you will write but the effect. The immediate effect on the readers. And the long term effect that it may have for the whole community of MGTOW.

I certainly do not want to see any maliciousness in the forums. We are all Men and at the end of the day we are all human. Personally I don’t see it as all that much of a threat. We are not a movement. Who cares what society thinks of us? We are already as low as we can be in their minds. I take these “trolls” as challenges.

At the end of the day I think its strengthen the bonds of the real men here. Conflict is a natural part of life. Its how we evolve.

Isolation erodes and weakens us. Conflict strengthens us. We can disagree and argue with each other and not hate one another. Those that show true hate are the trolls and they will be gone.

There is only so many things they can do but if they know we know they will run out of options, get bored and f~~~ off.

Should we list our observations, without mentioning names or threads?

One tactic as mentioned is picking topics very close to our hearts. Often. Always seems to cause a fight.

I notice some specific strategies within threads like mentioning other members names when challenging a member so to give the impression the member being named has their back.
They also point out to a member that another member has criticised them.
