There are two different categories of things here. One category is the negative assertion, essentially what is absent, and the other category what is present. Put simply we have what is and is not. So I’ll dive in to some things. A little context here, I’ve been single for my entire adult life, I include my teenaged years in that statement too.

So my life is not filled with a myriad of competing concerns. Wife, kids, and the like. That doesn’t mean that don’t have family members whom I love.

There are many things that I do that I’m not thrilled with. Waxing the car, paying bills, etc. These things are necessary and have a practical benefit for me. The quantity of these things would increase if a wife or girlfriend was involved.

Now for a positive statement. My life is based solely on my decisions. I fail or succeed on my own. I am not aided or held back by a wife. Decisions are mine and mine alone. That is how I’ll face the Lord on judgment day. Alone. If I fail it’s me. Wives hold back success with things like, “We need a new car, not a new investment.” “Let’s go on vacation to Bermuda.” “We need to start having children.”

1. It’s my house. I can decorate it how I choose. No stupid scented candles, vases or any other s~~~e.
2. If I want to go out at 8pm to the pub and do my thing, I can avoid gestapo interrogation.
3. In my free time, I can choose where I want to go. I fancy a trip to Scotland today, its not that far and I don’t have to explain myself. Maybe a workout in the gym later.

Maybe a “3b”…. I don’t have to spend money on a selfish bitch! The amount of money I have saved over the last few months is crazy. I’ve actually overpaid my mortgage for six months in a row, and still got plenty left over.
