I have reviewed this thread and understand context better now.

Casually, back in 2008/2009 someone I worked with said I “sound like Tom Leykis” when I was talking about dating American(ized) women. That was the first time I ever heard his name, but I am not a radio listener. Not even in the car.

They knew I was interested in producing a men’s interest website.

So I looked him up and listened to him and wished I heard of him MUCH earlier in life. Although…. isn’t it tremendous to arrive at your own conclusions? And there he was – saying all these unfashionable things out loud that all of us are really thinking.

His episode “over the hill women” opens with an immediate dig against “Hillary Clinton supporters”. … so anyone can gather that he’s not much of a Clinton supporter, or at least doesn’t care for those who are.

Otherwise, on the political front, he takes the side of men on legal issues such as paternity fraud, and in other show, he exchanged with an attorney on this….. about men who are KNOWN to not be the father – who are ordered to pay child support for kids that are not theirs, else they go to prison.

He is passionately against these things and is clearly genuine about his convictions. There can be no question about his authenticity.

On social dynamics / dating / marriage , when he has been confronted by callers, he has often said “my job is to sell advertising”…. so his DELIVERY, style, choice of topics may be somewhat magnified to trigger listeners and generate as wide an audience as possible. But his choice of topics, anecdotes, personal examples, articles he has shredded, and the mainstream opinions he has butchered are clearly in the interests of men – geared toward a male audience.

He takes a gynocentric/feminist/womanly point of view and all the classic “shaming tactics” continually shoved down everyone’s throats, and he consistently SHATTERS it to pieces just beautifully.

Here he is speaking to a married woman about the inequity of men in marriages and relationships and he knows men are generally “FED UP” with it all. Forget the 5 letters of “MGTOW”…… he doesn’t even need to mention them to make the point perfectly.

So I can’t even imagine him being seen with “pussy hat” on his head in my wildest imagination, and I sincerely hope to meet/speak with the man one day. I would firmly shake his hand….. and I would probably not let go for a little too long.

I have a passing interest in who lives in and controls the White House. I have a very acute interest in who lives in and controls MY house. I don’t have that much interest in national politics because national issues don’t affect me as much as local ones do. And nothing is more ‘local’ than what goes on in my own home.

So, I’m less concerned about a person’s national political preferences because mine are less important to me. But if I were a national celebrity, I might have to pay more attention to national politics. National politics might be more important to Tom. My state is so uniformly red that I would have a lot of local blow back for coming out as a blue voter. Tom may have the reverse problem in his blue state. So we may have to separate his national political preferences from our local preferences. Let me see if I can illustrate my point:

For those who would make a decision about someone based on who they voted for in a national election while excluding everything else they have ever done: Would you rather have Trump for president and be married, or Hillary for president and be single? Which scenario would f~~~ your life up the most? If Tom voted for Hillary and told you to stay single, or voted for Trump and told you to get married… in which scenario would he be the better ally to you?

Last, I’ll just add that I maintain a healthy suspicion of anyone who seeks political power over me (following the advice of American Revolutionary John Adams).

Leykis is not the only person who thought there is “NO WAY” Trump would win. Almost everyone was saying that. Just yesterday, I stumbled on this clip of Barbara Streisand singing about how Hillary was gonna win “YUUUUUUUUUGGGGGEEEE” and the whole audience joined in on the mockery.

In fact, before the election there was a member here “Jessup” who I exchanged with , and he wanted to bet BIG TIME Trump would lose, but I would only accept a bet with him for $1….. because I wouldn’t want to be THAT wrong about it.

And let’s face it, every force on the planet was against Trump winning, including basic probability.

After Trump won, I never saw that member “Jessup” again. I wasn’t even generally interested in politics or any election previously, and I will even forbid myself to be suckered into political debates with anyone IRL for this reason.

There was also a social media poll recently where 92% of people said they never really gave much of a s~~~ until the 2016 election and now they find themselves more interested overall.

We also have to remember that every +Trump vote wasn’t NECESSARILY a +Trump vote. Many were just “NOT CLINTON”… and likewise, many Clinton votes were also “just NOT TRUMP”.

Turns out many people learned a very good lesson in shutting the f~~~ up.

It’s very easy to take one side and totally make a bad call, but I still maintain when anyone wants to know who you think will be President ( or they really want to know “who you voted for” ) …… a very effective response is to just tell them “voting is just giving consent to being governed”.

They can’t do anything with that.
They can’t pigeon-hole you, and they can’t nail you for being wrong.
