    /forums/topic/so-i-find-out-today-my-ex-is-pregnant/

In reference to the link above. I actually saw my ex gf today outside of her car…walking, pushing a pram (she actually had the kid when all I was told through gossip that she was pregnant) with her dog. Lol I couldn’t f~~~ing believe it, been with the said guy for just over 18 months and already has had a kid to him with several kids between them all under 10, conceived I’d say around the 7-9 month mark of their relationship (honeymoon period). I am so f~~~ing happy I dodged that bullet javeline missile. The look on her face when she saw me drive by then quickly look away and down…Priceless! If MGTOW has taught me anything, and this site from the great guys here, is they are f~~~ing emotional disasters women! Im having a few beers tonight to celebrate my freedom.

When I see an Ex pop up or other peoples marriage / relationship woes on Facebook or hear them in town, I too thank my lucky stars that I avoided the marriage / children trap.

In fact, yesterdays Bank Holiday weekend is a good example.  I saw a post on Facebook about a friend who went up North to Liverpool with the family to go to a christening etc.  Long story short, apparently the car broke down on the way back, all hell broke loose, the kids (4 and 2) were upset and grumpy and it all sounded an absolute nightmare – especially being stranded 4 hours from home.

I read this, felt a moment of pity for my MALE friend, and then celebrated by getting Chinese Takeaway and ate like a gluttonous beast.  That money I spent was a symbol of how little it costs to treat MYSELF, as opposed to expensive relationships / children and basically having no life.

I to celebrate these little gifts in life 🙂

Marriage?  No thanks, i'm not ready to be THAT miserable.

All this showed me is how irrational, emotional and basically stupid she really is. Smart girl on paper (PhD) but in the flesh not so much.
When I was having a beer last night, and a little laugh at the situation i thought “this is just typical her, rush and tear into these situations and justify everything later.” She is a sociopath so now let the reality for this dumb ass guy who she’s with is gonna feel it. Then again this guy (PhD) mustn’t be too smart either, pushing 50, couple of kids already under 10 y/o you’d think he’d learnt his lesson.

But what initially bummed me was i wasted years with her and she promised me those very same things, marriage, kids and life together and 7-9 month after breakup she does it with the new guy. Then reality hit how bloody lucky I am and the absolute destruction that would have come years later. I make it a point within myself to not forget these experiences and the pain they caused because they are reminders and experiences that make me wiser to making better decisions in life. Too bad too many people don’t!

Pushing 50 and a bunch of kids under 10? No thanks. I love kids but if I don’t get a daughter before 30 I am going to freak out lol.

Both of my girlfriends did the same thing after breaking up. Right away they went online and began looking for new boyfriends. Within less then 2 weeks of breaking up they had new boyfriends. My second girlfriend found a new boyfriend, moved in with him, and got engaged within about a month after breaking up with me. This guy was 26 and she was 20, he had a 6 year old son, and neither of them drove or worked. The wedding didn’t go through.

Always stay focused and remember that. It might seem like wasted time in your mind, but some lessons take a long time to learn and stick with you. Most people would say getting a PhD isn’t a waste of time, and that takes years. But if I said, I got this awesome degree that will let you make (by saving) a s~~~ ton of money, grant you freedom you’ve never had before, and live a more satisfied life would you do it? You take courses in s~~~ty relationships and society telling you crap that isn’t true, then you graduate with a degree in MGTOW. That time wasn’t wasted, it was invested in educating yourself and I’m pretty sure the proportion of time you spent in that relationship will be small compared to “the rest of your life”.

Actually being a pHD is even more likely that this kind of stupid s~~~ will happen because they have have been trained by the system up to that level to be narrow-minded into the small detail bulls~~~ and never see the big picture which is essential part of waking up and smelling the ashes.

Take it from a guy who got a bachelor’s degree where this crap starts to really f~~~ through. And it only gets worse from there onwards to Masters and phDs, and surrounded by degree holder and phD holders.

    Antares & SoFDMC:

As someone with 2 master’s degrees and a Ph. D., all of them in engineering, I’d like to make a few comments.

Getting a Ph. D. requires a great commitment in time, money, and resources.  In addition, there’s a lot of political horse puckey that one has to deal with as academics can often have large, and possibly fragile, egos.  In order to get through that requires a perseverance and toughness of character that few people have.

One of the things required for getting a doctorate is focusing onto a narrow number of ideas and knowing them as well as possible.  Many who go all the way through the system without spending much time in the outside world tend to stay within that small range.  (The picture of the absent-minded professor isn’t entirely inaccurate.)

However, I took a different route.  I spent time in industry before returning for grad studies after I finished my B. Sc.   I did that because I wanted to master my professional capabilities.  As it turned out, doing that was of enormous benefit as a grad student because I had acquired the means of looking at problems from a different perspective.  Doing that, though, often got me into trouble with my graduate supervisors, most of whom didn’t have much time in the field or in a design office.

Still, I did finish my degree, so I must have done something right.

I agree with this to a point, a PhD in Engineering/Science would definitely not be easy esp on your own dime. I studied Civil/Structural Engineering at Uni so i know the difficulty. But as far as my ex and her bloke, they are doing Early Childhood and English Literature on scholarships. Sorry but no one here is gonna convince me the absolute difficulty and perseverance of doing these vs say a  PhD in Engineering/Science etc etc…you get the drift. Plus I use to proof read all her work and it was laughable. I did have a little laugh at the toughness of character, overall, with her situation, not so tough that they monkey branch to the next candidate. I still remember her saying to me she went to do Masters and PhD because she didnt  want to work in a day care centre all her life and her job prospects were limited. As far as  Eng. Lit. I cannot imagine many openings.

Changing subject though i still cannot wrap my head around why any guy would want to go through marriage and kids a second time around. Why do men keep doing this? But i am human and i do feel and i am honest to admit that i did have that moment days ago when i heard about the new baby and now marriage that i was missing out why him and not me when she promised me all these things and did i truly f~~~ this up, will i regret it as one of those things I will wonder “what if” about?

    Thoughts?

Wasn’t it Samuel Johnson who said that second marriages are the triumph of hope over experience?

As for doing Ph. D.s in “artsy” things, I wonder just what the people who get them think they’re going to accomplish.  Unless they’re lucky and get an academic position or, perhaps, a job in publishing, the market for those degrees is rather limited.  However, I’m not entirely surprised.  Since I was an undergrad 40 years ago, universities have become huge money-harvesting machines and will do anything to extract cash out of one’s pockets.  If there was a profit to be made in offering advanced degrees in something like Coleslawvanian circular mystic clog-dancing, they’ll create a department that teaches it and begin a marketing campaign to sell it to potential “customers”.

Lol, not so far fetched. When I lived in Germany one of the Universities had a degree in Puppet Design and Manufacturing. Seriously!

Puppet Design and Manufacturing?  And I thought it was bizarre when colleges in my province offered courses in–get this–rodeoing.  The rationale seemed to be:  “If we don’t, someone else will.”  (And what did you do in college, son?”  “Oh, we horsed around a lot….”)
