I made the mistake of going grocery shopping after work last night. I was just doing my normal shopping, but the place was packed with idiots scrambling to buy their turkeys and s~~~ at the last minute. I’ll be staying out of town until after the first of the year. Too many people out there right now and it won’t end until the holiday season ends.

Vultures. I will be having myself alittle hibernation. Safe under the blanket with next doors cat.

I fed my x’s cat some cat treats today. He has one of the best cat personalities I’ve ever seen.

Feed him beef/chicken slices. They go ballistic for that. Yeah, I never thought I would adore any other animal more than cat’s, but Ducks are the supreme creature. 32 of the webbed feet f~~~ers today. A new one today, different markings, a phenomenon!

I don’t like all cats. Some of them have s~~~ty attitudes.

If you knew the real “meaning” behind Christmas (Yule), you would see that it is just not a holiday to rip us off.

But, people have deranged the meaning of Yule (I am looking at you, Christians and Americans) first to a completely made-up story about a saint, then to a commercial holiday.

Yule meant the “death” and the “reborn” of everything in life. The beginning of winter, the twilight of life itself, just to be re-seeded in the womb, as a reminder that everything you do in your life, echoes in the eternity. It was a time of reflection, it was a time to rekindle with your folks, your tribe, and together seek knowledge and draw strategies on how to become better and keep your “Hamingja” and “Fylgja”, for the eternity to come.

Unfortunately, Yule is no more. Some people still keep it as it was, but today, most people keep it as just another reason to spend money on people they despise, just for the sake of getting a pat on the head.

Yes, I have recently learned this. Santa Claus comes from “Father Christmas” a version of Odin or Wotan in the Anglo Saxon tradition. Santa riding on his sleigh through the night sky is actual a rendition of Odin riding across the night sky.

All of the “Christian” holidays are rip offs of Olde Tyme pagan Holy Days. Christmas has nothing to do with “Baby Jesus.” Same thing with Easter (Eostre) as well, nothing at all do with Jesus Christ. All of these lies were made up by the Roman Catholic Church.

St Nicholas was a Christian Bishop from modern day Turkey.

Odin leads the wild hunt across the sky on Yule.

The midwinter festival is very, very old, older probably than the norse gods. It goes back at least as far as the start of Stonehenge and that was 3100BC. The Christians are not having this one.

Saul, sorry “Paul” was from Turkey. Oh the irony now Turkey is a Muslim state!
Yes, give it to the Druids.

There are no druids these days. There are some characters who like to wear dressing up robes and hang out at stone circles. They generally talk about flowers and peace love and equality because their elders are recycled hippies. These “druids” bear no resemblance to the druids that the Romans exterminated. Those druids were a powerful noble born priestly class with a lot of political power, a penchant for human sacrifice and no recorded interest in stone circles.

The modern druids can be quite entertaining. My personal favourite is “King Arthur” He and his followers wear white tabards with red dragons on them. The dragons on the tabards have a hard on. The people in the randy dragon tabards say that King Arthur is the real reincarnation of the mythological king Arthur. The mythological king Arthur was a Christian Romano Briton fighting against the pagan Saxons. This one is of Anglo Saxon descent and is campaigning against Christians to bring back a pagan religion -druidism- (but not as the pagans would have known it). It all makes sense really doesn’t it! You should also have a chat with his wizard merlin. Merlin is well worth buying a drink (just one drink). Merlin has solved the Da Vinci code in 15 minutes and helped the Americans find a lost satellite. Who would doubt his word when he is king Arthur’s wizard and dresses up like a crusader, complete with broadsword. (Merlin was a Welsh prince who went a bit feral and returned a wizard long before the crusades wasn’t he but I guess this guy is transcendental).

Don’t give anything to the druids. They would probably just smoke it and go to sleep on the couch.

The Romans used to accuse all of their rivals of “Human Sacrifice.” The truth is that was basic psychological projection technique. The Romans themselves are the ones that practiced Human Sacrifice. From gladiator games, to public crucifixion, to burning people alive in a metal bull for party entertainment.

The Druids adhered to a 30 year schooling curriculum before they could be recognized as one. They studied astronomy, mathematics, medicine and many other sciences. Don’t believe the Roman Propaganda. The extermination of the Druids was all around bad for European cultures.

Good post. Thanks for the insight into Druidism. I shall further delve into this ancient way of life.

    Hi Wizzard’s pupil,
Please don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the ancient druids. They were the scholarly and priestly side of a culture that was rival to the Romans and the Romans exterminated them. life would have been more interesting with them still around.

I find Tacitus is actually pretty accurate when he describes other cultures -take his stuff on the Germans. The Romans had the advantage of being top dog with an absolute monarchy. There was not a great need for propaganda or trash talk on rival cultures. They told it how it was and then they conquered them and assimilated them.

I totally agree about gladiators being a form of human sacrifice -certainly that is the origins of the practise. I am have not got a thing about human sacrifice being barbarous. Its a way of bringing public execution and public religious rites together. It not really akin to strange Satanists doing highly illegal stuff that is both evil and pathetic to the homeless and children today. Many of those sacrificed by the ancient druids were high born folk who got on the wrong side of politics and their public removal by the religious elite was a legal state function and a ritual cleansing in one. I only mentioned human sacrifice because the ancient druids did a lot of stuff the modern ones who claim descent from them would never do.

I have been to quite a few modern “druid” gatherings. It is hard to visit an ancient stone circle in the UK on a solstice or equinox without them being there. The modern druids differ greatly from the ancient ones and they also differ among themselves greatly in quality and sanity. As a general rule Avebury -nice sane folk, a bit touchy feely modern druid types (clearly heavily influenced by the 60’s and hippies) but sincere and educated pagans. Stonehenge -all the mad men in England dress up to frolic together under a veil of hemp smoke (you really should go at least once just to watch the wildlife. Its a show like no other and its free and 100% authentic).

You and Branch have aroused my interest into Druidism. I will watch a documentary….or two.

The Christians messed Yule up a bit but notice that it only became really commercial when feminism kicked off -there is a correlation.
When women got control of the money and wanted to compete with the hive and wanted to be given lots of free stuff by their men and wanted to make it a performance, then marketing men got excited and gave them exactly what they wanted.
Me; I burn last year’s yule log and put this year’s one on top to see me through the night. I take the 21st off work if I can to watch the sun rise. I try to get out hunting quite a bit over the holidays because it is good to be next to nature at the cardinal points of the year. But what would I know. I am only a man.

And THAT is how you keep Yule alive. Thanks for doing that.

"Young was I once, I walked alone, and bewildered seemed in the way; then I found me another and rich I thought me, for man is the joy of man." Odin, Hàvamàl, stanza 47.
