This man got rid of most of his possessions and decided to dedicate his life to hiking. It amazes me how he can walk long distances at his age. I get tired after about 3 miles of walking. Imagine all the different types of weather he had to endure: heat, cold, rain, snow.

I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

Anonymous42Reminds me of and looks like Forrest Gump!

Anonymous14There is, maybe now was a man, when I was young who everyone called “The Walking Man”. He was a big guy, maybe 6’3″ 220lbs. Long, slow, deliberate stride. It was like spotting Bigfoot whenever I saw him. Long beard and hair under a baseball cap, decent clothes, always in blue jeans… Well, this guy just walked all day long, every day. You would spot him in different areas some 50 miles apart, but he did seem to stick to the region. He never carried a thing. Water bottle? Nah, that is for pussies. He just walked, all day long. Where he slept or if he had a home I never knew. I even passed him closely face to face on a sidewalk one day in my late teens as I was riding my mountain bike. I said hi, he looked me in the eye and gave a subtle nod. It felt like I finally had made contact with Bigfoot and the mere fact the he acknowledged my presence was oddly satisfying. I don’t know what ever happened to this dude, he must have been 50 when I was 10, likely late 50’s when I ran into him. For at least 25 years I would see him in random places, never eating, never drinking, never resting, just, walking…
Damnnnnn
To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.
“The Walking Man”
He wandered the Earth like Kwai Chang Caine.
