No, I think the agony aunt columnist really means it. The part about angry wife nagging him for months, agony aunt does not see anything wrong with this. My take is their real problems are a misunderstand of basic finances. Angry wife should be worried about them both going bankrupt, but antagonizing hubby will not change his mind about anything. It made him more stubborn. What else did she expect?

I bet he has had enough of her s~~~ and is driving them bankrupt so the divorce settlement won’t bankrupt him all over again. He is like an animal caught in a trap. He is chewing off his paw to escape.
