For a few, Long thought out reasons, i have decided that i want to emmigrate from the UK to another country, more specifically America.

I’ve done research into emigrating, will be speaking to a friend who currently lives there Au Par (and has done for about 4 years), and have looked on a lot of websites about what life is like over there and the entire process.

A little bit about my idea:
To counter my lack of higher education, i have the personality, apptitude, and ‘Can do it’ attitude which i think would allow me to start my own business, more specifically something in the Hospitality industry.
I have home grown technical skills in mixology and have a bit of experience in the industry under my belt, but more importantly i have a love, even a passion for Pubs, more specifically in Traditional English ones.

i know that Irish pubs are a thing in the states, but i’m not sure how common english themed ones are. The main USP would be Traditional English ales, beers, spirits, Traditional home cooked English Food, and also the interal design and charm one would expect to find.

My reasons for posting on here are because the majority of you seem to be from America, but above all i know that any response i get will be highly valuable and worth taking on board.

Any advice on actually living in America would be highly appreciated as much as any comments on my Idea

You’re doing the right thing man. DO IT!

Gotta make these big moves when you’re young. It sucks being an old Guy and regretting the things I didn’t do. As the saying goes,

“It’s better to regret something you Have Done, than something you Haven’t Done”.

The only reason to stay in UK is the NHS, but that’s on it’s arse as well now and it ain’t gonna’ get any better. Too many users (many non conributors), not enough tax contributors.

If I had done it when I wanted to I could be driving a Buick 400 GS now.

    Amen to that, brother.

I just realised that as i’ve only turned 20, i have to wait for a year until i can actually do anything due to 21 being the legal drinking age – i assume serving alcohol is also 21?
