A judge really thought “I think 80% of his property going to his ex-wife is appropriate”

That actually happened.

He said a divorce court ruling left his ex with property worth £1.8 million – more than seven times his own £250,000 share.

Mr Stocker argued that the division of assets was “unfair and disproportionate” especially as his former wife has no children to care for.

So if she did have kids, would it go to 95% or something? Dare I say 100%?

“The assets have 80 per cent gone her way. All I’m asking for is a home,” he added.

Mr Justice Blake however told Mr Stocker that he had no hope of overturning the divorce ruling and would have to accept his reduced circumstances.
“This court doesn’t sit as a re-hearing court. You don’t just come here and say, ‘Can we start all over again please”‘.

“Unfortunately, as happens so often in this type of litigation, everything here has the appearance of an applicant who refuses to have a sense of finality”, he said.

So the judge is a rude asshole.  I see.

“Defending her payout, she said she had worked hard during the marriage to make the family construction company a success.

“I’m an intelligent person and I’ve got a masters degree from a good business school,” she added.”

That’s just sheer narcissism.

Once you start dealing with legislation and Family Law Courts etc. you’ve lost control and freedom…you can kiss it all goodbye.

Very much agree.

The only good coming out of this is that we hold up his limp, broken and bloodied corpse and show others what is being done in the name of marriage contracts.

The idiot represented himself?  That was his 2nd mistake.  There is much left out of this article I think.  It sounds as if he is appealing a decision, that he didn’t put forth a fight before the decree was actually completed.  I get the feeling he legally screwed himself on this, but since it took 4 years and he owns a successful business, that seems highly unlikely.

And the crap about she feeling she earned it is insane.  If you were worth so much, why weren’t you employed there?  Why didn’t you start your own business?  And yet, after the huge payout, she still plays the victim card with “I didn’t win, lawyers did crap”.

That was an awful judge, to be sure. The guy should have done what one man did I believe it was in New York State: He knew the wife was filing for divorce and he knew he’d lose it all. So when she went out of town the hired a tractor to level the house completely, converted the savings in the account to gold and threw it into a local land fill. I don’t know if I’d do that but I admire the inguneity.
