I was in the music scene in my area when I was young. My circle of people were mostly the tail end of Generation X (not that this really matters but just giving an idea of our age etc) and we were some of the first to really push the tattoo and piercing trend. I had several piercings myself (took the last one out when I was 30). We were just trying to be wild and stand out. It was definitely done for ATTENTION. Anyone who says otherwise is a f~~~ing liar. It all comes down to attention first, then comes the competition to be more edgy, and lastly as art (which is related to being more edgy but all of these relate to attention first).

Even the stupid beeotches that have their pussies pierced, they want it to slip out in conversations that their pussies are pierced so that they can seem edgy and they believe that it increases the look of their sexual prowess. Most also think this gives them more pussy power and control.

In my experience, the truly innocent girls are weirdos. Any woman that is attractive is going to have everything thrown at her for free during her pre wall years.
