I try to stay away from politics as much as I can. One of the American founders advised every citizen to ‘maintain a healthy suspicion of anyone who seeks political power over them…’, and I follow the advice. I try to stick to science, and base my opinions on what can be proven with science. I also don’t get emotionally invested in the ideas that are currently best supported by currently available evidence, as all scientist agree that we are constantly on the search for better evidence and a more certain truth.
I also try to stay out of religion for the same reason. Science is what you can prove. Religion is what you choose to believe without proof (faith).
There are times when science and religion clash. The first scientists to say the earth was round and the sun did not rotate around it were burned at the stake by religious zealots of the time. This issue with inbreeding is real. Religious issues aside, inbreeding is a bad idea for exactly the reasons mentioned in that video. Those reasons are real, they are scientifically proven, and the mechanisms to prove them are repeatable wherever it occurs. But since Muhammed married his cousin, and you can be similarly burned/killed in that culture for questioning anything he did, they are basically in the same situation that our culture was in about 600 years ago with the round earth theory.
I’m a medical doctor, and these realities about the negative effects of inbreeding is not opinion. The commentator in that video made the statement that he’d never heard of these things. But that is not because it isn’t proven scientific fact. It is because he never took a genetics class, and he grew up in a place where it was so widely known that it had become part of the cultural norm not to do it, and not to even discuss the reasons why. (he may not know specifically why we don’t drink water out of a ditch, either. But he knows it’s a cultural norm that we don’t do it here). The British empire has fawned over its royals for centuries, and those royals have been inbreeding for centuries. As part of the cultural norm there, they don’t get criticized for their decisions. Although doing so probably wouldn’t get you burned in that culture these days, it remains true that Prince Charles is the first member of the British royal family in history to get a college degree, but no one there ever speaks of it.
Wether you can speak these scientifically proven realities about islam or not is largely depending on where you are standing on the planet right now. But your geography does not change the science wether you speak of it or not.
To those who would propose a conspiracy theory that there is a plan to generate more people just smart enough to work and pay taxes and continue breeding, but not smart enough to ever think critically of what their government tells them, or challenge it, or try to change it… I have no argument other than this: these does not need to be a conspiracy to forcibly get something done that people are already dumb enough to do for themselves. If you are trying to create a population of slaves, it’s easier to do it with the most dumbed down population you can find.
And if you can find one willing to dumb themselves down, and religiously committed to doing it…
