This is a quick story of a LARGE German Shepherd. The older sibling of my own dog, whose name was Chacho.
Raise by a police officer and used a breeder. Chacho was the type of dog that would instill fear. He looked like a bear. He was never socialized. He was kept confined specifically to breed. His worth confined to his power. He was a master at keeping a pure bloodline. If he didnt see his master, any human was an enemy. He was feed the best food. Given the best care and treated as a king. Still yet, Chacho had NO FRIENDS. All he knew, literally was MEAT & BITCHES.
As he grew older, His strength began to wane, as what happens with all large dogs. Yet his passions never did. Enter “Honey”… His new breeding bitch. He was to produce before time got short a new line of pure puppies before his time ran out. Honey, in heat, barked and cried and howled, for she knew Chacho was the only alpha around. She too was chained, and kept locked in her own pen. While their master was away, they were to be kept apart.. making the craving more powerful??
Chacho, the proud and strong, never one to back away from what he wanted… listening to her constant howl beckoning him. His own desire could take no more. We all seen a dog hump anything! Imagine when after having it over and over, the real thing is right there, yet denied to you! Honey is a beautiful bitch.. like a steak on a platter to him. His male instinct takes over. In his lustful mind, the only thing in his way, a low slung porch rail and the fence holding Honey. Fences be damned. was raised in this backyard and knows every inch. The power of boners… Just a quick jump…
He forgot about the family pool… Over the porch rail he jumps easily! Splashing down in the the pool to reach his conquest… Yet, Its MARCH.. And the pool is MOSTLY drained. No one is home.
He swims for the edge… He knows this pool. Hes played in it before with the kids. But he cant reach the edge. Its March. He swims for the stairs to climb out. He knows this pool. But there are no stairs in a drained winter pool. Panicked, he wails, swims harder as his thick coat sucks up the BONE CHILLING frozen water… No one is home… Honey barks, she wails! She howls for him, he howls for help. Its a Thursday… No one is home.
His strength is failing and the cold is too much. The edge of the pool is too high, and the drained pool has just too much water.. His muscles fail in the chill… He finally concedes.
My phone rings at 1130 pm. Im ready for bed. My sister implores me for help. See, Chacho belongs to a her best friend and theyre both crying. Chacho, has drowned. It takes the arm power of myself and another man to reach down into the pool and pull the poor boy out. Solid as a rock, we laid him in a blanket. We take a few minutes of silence for this great beast which lived only to eat and f^ck bitches. By estimates, he lived a damn good life. But it was that life which he was bred for, that HUNGER which let him to a fateful decision.
We dont know if he drowned first or froze to death. Whichever killed him first, it was a lesson to myself…
Chasing a bitch, WILL KILL YOU. Financially, Emotionally, Spiritually or in Chacho’s case, Physically. RIP Chacho.
