When I was younger (late 20s, early 30s) I was involved with a few women and allowed myself to be used sexually by them in ways that I would never even consider being a part of now. That stupid movie is going to get lots of dumb guys in trouble…

BDSM is nothing to play around. I practice basic shibari  / kinbaku (Japanese bondage) and this guy broke the MAIN rule in this type of “play”  – keeping your head cool. He got too involved in the fantasy and lost control of the scene.
