    Hi guys.

I’m making this post because I’ve been hanging around on r/anarcho_primitivism latley. Based on that, I want to comment on the current state of the an-prim community.

I think that the anarcho-primitivist movement makes some good points. If you ask the average person “Is technological progress good?” then the person will probably tell you “Of course it’s good! End of discussion!” If you do this online, then people will often shoot the messenger … even if the messenger was just delivering a simple question.

Did prehistoric humans have less mental illness? Did they do less work than early farmers? Didn’t they share their food with their families? Did they care for the disabled? Was ADHD even a hindrance back in those days? What about dyslexia? What about Asperger’s? Wasn’t civilization built by and for “normal” people?

Global Climate Change is bad because animals have difficulty adjusting to such rapid change … so some humans have difficulty adjusting to rapidly changing technology right? I’m a hypocrite for speaking about anarcho-primitivism on the internet? What about women who talk about feminism using a man-made computer? Wasn’t the natural world a nicer place before it was plundered for resources?

Civilized society doesn’t seem to want to answer these questions. Instead, the people who ask these questions are typically shamed into silence. As a result, it’s easy to see sense in the an-prim community. Hardly anyone will even debate them properly.

That being said, the an-prim community has some problems that need to be addressed.

First of all, I don’t think that destroying all of civilization is necessary. I believe that environmentalists will increase the size of the wilderness in the future. Eventually, post-modern civilized folk and neo-primitives will live on the same planet together. I doubt that there is any need for a revolution.

Another Thing: The an-prims usually assert that they are post-left. I disagree with this. The an-prims usually assert that paleolithic societies had gender equality. This is absurd. Many an-prims are vegans. This is also absurd. Nearly all real evidence suggests that prehistoric humans were patriarchal and omnivorous. Cavemen were, in fact, the manliest men ever to exist. That is, of course, exactly what one would expect.

In its current form, the an-prim movement is a bunch of hippies. They think that cavemen were hippies. It’s bulls~~~.

Why do I even care about anarcho-primitivism? I care because our war against the far-left might not succeed. We might win … but what if we don’t? What if the radfems get their dream come true?

For me, anarcho-primitivism is an escape plan. If the West becomes a matriarchy then screw it. I’m outta here.

    anarcho-primitivist movement??

Ok first I have ever heard of that. “Runs to google and wiki’s the f~~~ out of it.”

    “Runs back to forum..”

Okaaay…. I find it the height of irony that a group espousing the fall of technology and anarchy is promoting their movement through online forums and blogs.

That would be the equivalent, to me, of burning a book while trying to read it.

As far as technological progress, distribution of knowledge and information through the internet is probably on par with when technology advanced to the point where the printing press was created.

Also one thing to note, the driving force behind mans technological advancement stems from 2 things. 1) mans desire to explore. 2) blue pill men’s desire to increase the comfort for their women thinking it would make them happy.

It is telling, when you research, that the overwhelming majority of anarcho-primitivist’s are men. With a little thought its obvious that women are not eager to lose luxury and comfort. They may march and protest about being “Green” or “Climate Change” but if you say that making changes will cost humanity a lot of comfort generated by technology, women will be the first to resist if it will effect them. 🙂

@chir: An-Prims use the internet in the short term as a means to an end. Is that really hypocritical?

Is it hypocritical when an-caps drive on public highways? Are communists being hypocrites when they buy things?

But … yeah … you are very right when you say that women have an odd attitude towards the environment. Women want to save the rainforest because it is full of “cute” animals, but they don’t want to explore the wilderness. They don’t want to explore it because nature is full of harsh truths about life and existence that women can’t handle.

Of course, women usually have no problem with buying endangered animals just because they look like toys.

The simple solution would be for them to practice their skills and politics. Challenge them to spend 2 months in complete wilderness. If they want to form a small clan, fine, whatever organization they chose to adopt.

Then, interview the survivors about how well gender equality and veganism worked for them. That is if they haven’t eaten each other by then…

I use to dabble in primitive skills. Flint knapping, cordage, etc. My interest was not survival but to gain an understanding of early technology. I learned that primitive was not a pejorative. Early people could work stone more skillfully than a modern whimyn could use her cellphone. (Ok that is a low bar, but it proves my point)

    You have the right idea.

Most an-prims seem to have a very effeminate view of the natural world. They recognize that it is beautiful, but they can’t seem to see the food chain. They also don’t understand that feminism only works because of modern tech.

    It’s happening as we speak.
Just that the ‘post-modern civilized folk’ will be the one-per-centers while the rest of us scrabble in the dirt for vittles, use vegetable poultices to cure diseases and gradually lose the ability to read and write.

I tried flint knapping. Was interesting. The edges were very sharp. Then I read how for some surgeries they use obsidian blades. Interesting how something you would think as so primitive becomes high technology.

Back before the “First Prize” meat packing plant closed where one of my grandfathers worked, he let me use the Captive Bolt Gun. Seeing how meat is processed leaves an impression on you when you are 12. Also… I learned what goes into hot dogs. I will never eat them again.
I am an avid hiker and I live near the Adirondack trail. I have made it a hobby to identify edible plants and try them after bringing them home and positively identifying them. So I can say with confidence that I could live primitively. However, I sure as F~~~ would not want to HAVE to live that way. It’s hard, dirty, and you are subject to every damn insect that wants to burrow in and make a home in your body. You ever had Giardia? Had a friend catch it. He was cramping and shooting s~~~ out his ass for a week before they cleared him of it.

The Amish have technology also, believe it or not. They are just picky in what they choose. They won’t pick any technology that causes them to get tied to the rest of the world and dependent on it. As a result, they have their own power generators, and different Amish communities actually own cell phones. They don’t mindlessly adopt it. In one sense, the Amish have been anti-globalization for years.
