I think that Kevin Smith successfully sued an airline a few years ago, because they’d refused to allow him to sit in the window seat or something, the reason being that he was too fat. They weren’t trying to insult him, it was simply a matter of violating the emergency codes. In the end, though, they issued him a public apology and admitted that he’d been treated unfairly. They even offered him a discount flight voucher as a peace offering, which of course he refused.

Now…I’m not having a go at fat people. And I don’t want to slag off Kevin Smith too much, because I do like him. But he did get huge. And no, it wasn’t a gland problem. By his own admission, he’d spent years eating too much s~~~ from his favourite diary – or convenience store, as the US calls it, corner shop in the UK. Which means, ipso facto, that it was a lifestyle choice. You can’t really choose to live as a whale and then be surprised when you discover the pratfalls attached to it. Yet the airline had to back down and confess that they’d been “mean”.

So let’s review: A man, who chooses to exceed his scientifically-determined ideal weight, finally meets the evidence of his mistake in an embarrassing spectacle, which should provide him with the kick in the arse that he needs to eat a bit healthier and get more exercise. But in the end…he somehow wins.
A man, who does absolutely nothing wrong, is evaluated solely based on his race and sex and gets kicked off an airline. But in the end…they somehow win.

Try being compressed against the freezing cold window of a Boeing 737 for 2.5 hours unable to freely move, because a land whale was seated in the middle seat next to you and spread into your personal space. I complained and got a free upgrade to business class for my next flight.

Luckily, the leg home had me on a 757 where I had a whole row of seats to myself. I made myself a couch and decompressed.

I completely agree there. Man or woman, if you take up more than 1 seat, you should pay extra to fly.

I’m just glad I don’t have to end up flying. In fact, I’ve never flown in my life.

Plus, airlines have been known to move a man away from a seat if a kid is sitting next to him.

I try to avoid flying as much as possible because of bulls~~~ like this.

That be f~~~ing cool if there was Mgtow option to fly. “Mgtow airlines” would just have a peaceful atmosphere ya know. No I know, that’s what I’m saying.

I thought it was unfair that they made him out to be this poor, hard-done-by man who’d been treated unjustly by the airline, when in reality they were just following their regulations – as they would be expected to do with any other obese person, famous or not.

It just baffles me that in that situation, the airline was forced to grovel and apologise, when the overweight man brought on the dilemma himself.

But in a situation where you’ve got this normal, ordinary guy who hasn’t done anything, the airline single him out on absolutely no logical or ethical grounds – and nobody can recognise where the airline is in the wrong here. What a card.

Regarding fatties, this could all be resolved by airlines making every seat “deep bucket with plastic sidewalls” like in the emergency exit rows. But this will not occur because the airlines don’t care. They leave the stress to be absorbed by the adjacent passengers instead of losing a fat person’s revenue because they won’t fit in such a seat. Once it costs them more to do this, it will be changed. For every person who correctly complains and is compensated, there are passengers who just, “eat it.” Sickening, but it boils down to ‘what the market will bear’.

Anyone here think they would have done it to him had his name been Kayla Smith? Obese people need to travel, and I have no problem with that. If your body needs two seats, then you simply pay for two seats. Maybe the airline could offer the second seat with a quantity discount. These obese folks just physically cannot fit into the seat. I think they’d be a serious liability should the need to evacuate the aircraft arise. Some are barely ambulatory such is their mass.

As you mention Constantine, he did it to himself though he should be able to fly first class with no problems.

I refuse to fly commercial these days due to the TSA groping/thieving/x-raying clown circus that goes on here in the US. The airlines do treat the passengers like s~~~. The TSA treats passengers like s~~~. I’m the type who would tell a snotty TSA goon to go f~~~ herself if she pushed my buttons wrong. That can get one in very hot water here in the Fascist States of America.

I remember flying in the 70s. It was a totally different experience. Real meals were served to the passengers in flight. Some may still do it on extended hauls like cross country or overseas. The seats were larger too. Of course, the planes are safer and avionics better now.

I fly general business aviation these days. I might be flying in some crop duster grade Cessna 182 landing on uncontrolled grass fields assisting the pilot watching out for any approaching aircraft and trying to help him get a visual on the obscure strip, but they treat you like a human being instead of live stock. A 500 lb whale might make a 182 exceed gross takeoff weight.

I was in my local Whale-mart the other day to pick up some items. I saw a female whale in a scooter saddle bags in tow in line in front of me. This scooter’s basket was filled with nothing but sugared soda, potato ships and Cheetos, bread and frozen pizzas. Never have I seen so much unhealthy food in a single cart. That was how she got that way. I’m standing there with dental care items, spinach, avocados, sour cream, and black beans.

I have been wanting to start a topic like this. I see it all the time where I live in Orange County, California. I see this junk all the time, not necessarily this exact case of her racism, but similar because I am a man. Just last week I was carrying groceries to my home and saw a woman who had just moved into the neighborhood I’ve lived in since I bought my place 6 years ago. She just recently rented her place.. Early to mid 30s and looked like a feminist. It was after dark and she was at the mailbox getting her mail. She looked at me as if I was coming up to rape her, just walking down the sidewalk to my home with arms full of grocery bags…. The fear in the bitches eyes was hilarious. I casually said hi and then looked both ways before crossing the street as she muttered “hi” to me. Stupid bitch. Just being a man in public is becoming a criminal act and we are all out for some ulterior motive (rape)….

Who else sees these crazy women acting like this? Any similar experiences?

Yes, I have seen it many many times. I’m sure there are a lot of men that have experienced this.

Life can’t be good for these dumb bitches if they really are afraid all the time. It must be stressful. But they are now getting what they deserve. They believe that nonsense that all men are potential rapists so let them live in fear then. Not our problem.

The irony is that it is the ‘unsafe-feeling’ women that makes things so dangerous for men. For example, you get in an elevator with a sloot and she feels ‘unsafe’ because you are a man and it is just you and her. Worse yet, in this gynocentric society, it is her word against yours. Anyone placing bets on who wins?

I think it is an even greater irony that in their quest for security, they make everything around them more insecure. Security is an illusion that many believe will dispel their anxieties about the future. It doesn’t.
