I’ve been glued to some guy’s channel for months .. months! .. He speaks in Russian (I believe) haven’t understood a word he’s ever said except Net and Da .. he’s been all over Scandinavia with great camera work .. and life in that size RV looks tempting.
It’s the camper .. this specific one or an RV exactly like it .. that has attracted me to this series .. I’ve literally watched every video over and over and he has the set-up .. I might like to end up with.I know the life wouldn’t be perfect .. then again, it might. Selling everything I can and getting a small RV .. just like this one .. and beginning a new existence using whatever funds I still have for as long as I can. I even like the idea of having solar and a generator and spending lots of time camping beyond connections .. “boondocking” .. What’s not to like about his little RV as my only home? .. this new way of life?
I’m tired of paying property taxes that could, instead, be used for a vehicle like this .. and what do I get for it? the taxes? .. an occasional snow plow turning around in my driveway, and that’s about it .. I really might sell out. Sell the car .. everything .. and trade for this little RV .. or it’s closest cousin. Heck, I’ve never even seen the Grand Canyon and before I know it .. I might start getting old.
You need to talk with people who have done this long term for the pros and cons. Personally I have heard comments from people, who have done so that they can get pretty cold in the winter, because they just do not normally have the same level of insulation a house or mobile home has. It prompted some to build a tiny house on a trailer they could move where they wanted, and so hey could insulate it properly.
Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.
If you are going to travel, it might be wise to do so sooner rather than later.
The nation is getting crazier by the day.
Like SAM suggested, talk to people whom did this before you take action.
Also, be careful, watch yourself, budget what you do, and you should do fine.
Yes, lots to consider, especially durability of equipment in a rig like that .. it usually takes me half of a decade to change very much, so I’d check things like furnace and AC and construction quality,
I would assume some models are constructed lighter weight .. would take lots of comparison work over time to decide anything .. and depreciation on anything like this would also be massive the minute it leaves the dealership .. many variablesMy former neighbors .. they must be in their 70’s now .. retired, sold their place .. and live in a larger RV .. and spend summers in Upper Midwest, back here near their roots .. and told me they spend winters in a place called Livingston, Texas .. to avoid the brutal winters.
They were up here all summer and then .. I got a Christmas Card from them and it was postmarked from an RV park in Texas .. so they are hooked up down there during cold months. If you saved for retirement, and can say that you can pay for the cost of Propane, then its not that bad.
S~~~, I did it. I did it for almost a year. Did I ever get cold? Hell NO! THat’s what the engine is foR!
If you look into the WEbasto heaters, the ones that run from Gas or diesel are really a good deal! Put out a ton of heat.
FYI, you that Van I make all my videos in? Um, I f~~~ing Idle my cars for HOURS! I am GREEN PIECES BITCH cousin CARBON.
I don’t get some of these folks. A Large 12-48v battery bank costs you less then $1000 bucks. And for that money, you are getting a HELL of a lot of Lead acid run time. Buy it with your Visa cars and get an extra year warranty on top of the battery warranty.
Honestly, as long as you get a NICE RV, who cares? John does this, and he loves his life. I still say own some small amount of property somewhere where you can make a very good LOCKED BUILDING or SHED. TIn and STEEL, and insulate so that fire, and etc will not be problem for storage.
As long as you got a savings, maybe even Social security to pad it, you are good. But as you get older, S~~~. F~~~ staying in a nursing home.
But I’m telling ya guys, work and save those funds, invest and make as much cash as you can, and then live out your life in comfort till the end.
As far as RV’s? If you are Mechanically inclined? Dude, and RV don’t cost s~~~. Takes as much fuel or electricity as a home. And if you run Diesel? and can get it CHEAP. Like Offroad diesel, (you can get it almost at cost no TAX)
Here is one of the reasons why you want to have an Address in Texas.
Get a Pioneer pacific fuel card. The cost of the fuel in texas is usually the cheapest. That means that whatever the LOCAL price of fuel is? You pay TEXAS PRICES. š
The other thing is, if you DO happen to strap the top with Ebay Solar panels, install them right? That’s one bonus. Most RV’s you can do about 3kw of panels and look for about 500w of output on even poor sun days.
In fact, most people wastefully use their generators, and don’t take advantage of the heat energy it makes. Sure some use the hot engine Coolant to heat their cabins. But the heat from the exhaust goes unused. Heating water or Oil tanks would be the ticket there through a heat exchanger. And if you DID do a Hybrid drive AC type system? A VERY SMALL 1.9 TDI motor would last you darn near 20 years if you use the right parts.
Thing is, you want something like that, you may have to build it on your own. But if you look at how much electricity is in for California for example or in the UK? It’s almost the price of fuel.
There are even folks that just store the extra power from the sun as Hydrogen. Its possible. And use that to drive their Gas rigs as well!
The sky really is the limit man. And you don’t need anything to complex. Again, if you have an RV, you got PLENTY of room for storage. If you tow a trailer behind your rig, you are SET for for having everything you need.
Personally, I would rather open a Mini resort of sorts, and enjoy throwing parties, and enjoying the better life.
Its really up to you. But being cold? Bahhh.
Hell, satellite internet, TV, Cell phone, An Armored RV Rig if needed, and you got your life made man.
Planing is everything. š

You must pay a hell of a lot of property taxes??
If you want to do it, then do it.

I would suggest that you first try living in a camper for a few weeks. Then maybe for a few months. Then perhaps for a couple of winters. Try things out first to see how it goes before making a final decision…
I’ve been living in a camper trailer since Christmas. Of course I am in Florida. I spent 4 months last summer in the camper. If I didn’t have my house in Ohio paid off I’d sell it and just stay at an RV park when I’m home. Last summer I moved from park to park but this winter I’ve stayed put since I got here. It’s not a bad life. You meet a lot of nice people at RV parks. My income is direct deposited. I pay my bills on line. The parks usually have social activities. I attend local masons meetings and church. The RV park fees do add up but I can afford it. I do miss my grandson very much so I’m headed home next week.

Anonymous38It depends on a few things. You need to think long-term to answer this question.
That kind of lifestyle is appealing to me. However if I sell up now I’ll have much less cash than I will when the property is paid off, and no appreciating assets. Also I’d need to fund my travels, I don’t like continually eating away at savings for these things because it feels like eventually it’ll be gone. And then what? You’re left with a knackered RV. Memories, yes, but as you age you’re going to likely regret having no asset you can use for income or a lump sum.
I decided to move out of the city to the country, and live a very simple and tranquil life. I’ll rent out my property and let someone else pay it off, currently that’ll be in around 12 years. Since I won’t have to work more than 2 or 3 days, and be surrounded by nature, I’ll satisfy my desire to have a peaceful, outdoors kind of life, for now.
Then I can keep it rented out and have a monthly income, or sell up and have the means to buy a mountain home AND an RV.
To each HIS own. Frankly, I enjoy having my own little slice of heaven in a fixed location. It’s not opulent, but is very comfortable, quiet, reasonably roomy and ALL MINE.
We just don't realize life's most significant events while they're happening. Back then, I thought, "Well, there'll be other days". I didn't realize that that was the only day. - "Moonlight" Graham
It’s one of my options but always with a home base available. I’m actually considering two to three home games with very different locations and just camping/motorcycle touring between them.
The motor home you like from the video is more than I need. Each man’s comfort and space requirements are a very personal thing. I’d say go for it, but I was born to be a vagabond. I just happen to have guaranteed income for life due to choices I made along the way.
I failed to realize in my youth that I was the prize. I was going to work. I was going to earn. Little did I realize that due to feminism, that no longer meant I had to share. Road soon, Desert after.
