ok the next chapter in this story begins with a thank you to many of you.

You dudes have been helpful and encouraging as I go through some pretty gnarly crap.

Some of you gave me some career advice, and I’m working towards that right now.

I have spent the summer reading and practicing coding, and talking to many of you in this field. I like the earning potential, the male only work environment and the employment opportunities.

I applied for a university and was accepted.
I’ll start this fall. Big problem is the lack of prerequisite classwork in math. we’ll not a real problem. What one man has learned, another man can learn. I think I’ll be done in June of 2020. Not sure. I have to talk to an admission councilor and the Computer Science Academic Advisor.

So, Master’s Degree in Computer Science. I can do this. I have all the gen ed classes done I’m sure. Just focus on major work. I can do this. I want this. I will have this.

Kudos and glad that your plan is working out. The math skills can be relearned and you don’t really need much for a software specific MS. Just keep your eyes on the prize.

    Good on you !
If I can offer some advice….
If you haven’t taken a Math course lately, it would be well worth-while to do so BEFORE you take credit Math courses. Something like College level pre-calc would be good just to get the wheels rolling again.
    Best of Luck

Keep plugging away at it. 2020 will arrive whether you work toward a degree or not. Better to be ready for it. You watch. You’re going to have a great life!
