I’ve been keeping my ear to the rail on this epidemic that’s helping to ravage my property value in the State of Vermont. I’ve been robbed twice and have my suspicions it was done by a local junkie that was found shot in the head in his slum trailer.

The Oxycontin came from Florida Pill Mills and the Heroin comes from Springfield Mass up the I-95 to I-91 corridor, that’s the word on the streets as I’ve lost some friends to this menace and gained some inside information.

There’s some interesting stats on the Rolling Stone story if you click on the image below. The insanity is waste deep all around me!

I know the feeling—there is a meth-house about a mile down my dirt road on the other side of the swamp. If someone wants to kill themselves who am I to interfere.

As I’ve said before, I used drugs for over 10 years but always drew the line at anything that required using a needle. Just smoke, pill popping and snorting lines. I was devestated after being emotionally mauled by the Evil Ex.

I didn’t understand how most women opperate and blamed myself for being a failiure with women. This feeling of rejection and failiure I carried with me for a decade meant that it was hard just to be happy with myself. Using drugs would lift me out of self criticism for a while. Going to Northern Soul Allnighters and later Raves, gave me something to look forward to. There was a strict division amoungst the people I socialised with, between those who used “Party” drugs, (Amphetamine – Extacy), and those who used what we called “The drugs of self destruction”.

Nobody in my social circle ever had to steal to fund their recreational supplies. I personally Graduated colledge with a distinction while smoking and hard partying. I knew there had to be a limit on what I could consume and still hold down a job.

Living in a Red Light district for a couple of years I got to know some of the local hookers. There were my neighbours. Nearly all women on the street were addicted to Heroin.

There was an explosion of Heroin use in the UK around the early 70’s. This co-incided with the arrival of people from Pakistan, who after arriving with next to nothing very soon became very wealthy business owners. No one really knew how they got the money to expand their businesses so quickly, and people I worked with in the Hoisery Industry would tell me that they were selling knitted products for less than the cost of the Yarn needed to make the goods.

I see people who use Heroin as the architechts of their own destruction. Same with Tabacco and heavy booze consumption. You know the risks. If you choose to go down that road you know where it’s headed.

I justified my consumption of party drugs by comparing the effort and expense of trying to get laid with no garantees of success, with spending half the money and being (almost) garanteed a great night of personal pleasure.

If I could have found emotional and sexual satisfaction as easily as getting high I probably wouldn’t have stayed with drugs for so long. I don’t know what excuse women give for their addictions. I just know that their treatment of me made drugs seem preferable.

Happens everywhere. Salford (UK) is flooded with it. Manchester (UK) used to have a big crack problem in the 1990s and of course back then due Manchester being rave capital of the world ecstasy was everywhere. Some people need to get high to escape boredom others because they need to escape the grim reality of the cards life has dealt them. That’s why Britain has an alcohol problem. what many people don’t realise is alcohol withdrawal at it’s most severe for a real alcoholic can kill people who suffer seizures, heart attacks and very strong and frightening visual auditory and sensory hallucinations.

Heroin reappeared and became easily available and inexpencive around the same time we went into Afganastan. Coincedence???

My hometown in Erie PA is also flooded with this epidemic. It doesn’t seem to be getting any better either. NARCAN has increased the problem in my area. All ambulances, police and fire services have NARCAN and most of the junkies know it. Years ago, before NARCAN, Heroin wasn’t a problem because the junkies knew to be careful. One bad batch that was unknowingly cut with something else could spell death so most people stayed away from heroin. NARCAN changed that. The junkies now can push the line even further knowing that some form of EMS is right around the corner and ready to bring them back from their OD.

i swear to God that heroin should be FREE .
    like in Amsterdam,
where the users get it at a pharmacy.
    quality controlled and ..get this,
they have a lower % of users than the U.S.
    .
if they want it , let them have it.
    glad it’s not me.
    f~~~ em.
    the s~~~ is everywhere,
free dope = no crime..no incentive to steal for it.

I agree…but then again…why does the government force me to pay for their medical treatment and rehab when they push it too far? If the government wants to outlaw drugs they should outlaw narcan right along with heroin.
