Guys what is your opinion about the movie ‘malena’.What does the movie tries to tell.

For those who havent seen this, here is the story,

It takes place in ww2 italy. A women lives in a small town and her husband serves in the italian army somewhere faraway. Every guy in the town wants to f~~~ her but she doesnt sleeps with anyone. But she is labelled as a whore by the married hit the wall women as their husbands always are after her. She gets raped once and then she decides to become a whore to german, italian military officers and rich men. She leads a happy life but after the war she is dragged to the streets and beaten by the women and chased out from the town. Her husband returns home after losing an arm to the war, he searches for his wife but is humiliated by the men,but he searches for her and finds her and returns with her to the same town and lives. The film ends with a scene where malena is shopping in the market and the women who chased away feeling ashamed for their behaviour.

I’m pretty certain there are numerous studies of the after effects for women that suffer a real RAPE that negate this particular story line.

Malena didn’t f~~~ anyone (?) because she knew the community would shame her.

She had always had the desire to whore around and f~~~ rich men for their money. But, she needed a ‘justifiable’ reason to do that.

She then becomes a ‘victim’….

I remember some woman commenting about that movie once and she said something like ‘the other women were so jealous of her beauty that she was beaten’.

I have never seen the full movie so don’t know what it actually is about. I just remember the name.
