The Mother of Prostitutes

If you are a Christian brother you’ll be familiar with the believer’s impulse to search for deeper meaning in Bible texts and/or relating a particularly nebulous passage to our present age.
One of the most fascinating Bible book to me, and many others, is St.John’s Apocalypse, or ‘Revelation’ as it is known in the English translations.
A couple of days ago, as I was studying, praying and meditating over chapter 17 a thought suddenly grabbed my attention and wouldn’t let go: what if the Whore of Babylon described in John’s vision was actually imagery for feminism ? What if the kings who got drunk from her cup of fornication were actually the politicians or heads of states who are now giving feminism free range to trample on Masculinity unimpeded? And what if the Whore’s punishment, brought on by the Almighty’s outrage at her works of iniquity, is what awaits feminism when it all is said and done?
Mind, I know what the Whore of Babylon does stand for and far far be it from me to even suggest another explanation for her besides what is clearly written and easily understood.
But read the passage for yourself and you will see why that thought hailed my attention.

17. “One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits by many waters. 2 With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.”

3 Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. 5 The name written on her forehead was a mystery:

babylon the great

the mother of prostitutes

and of the abominations of the earth.”

There’s more but I’m not posting the entirety here, just the passage that interests us.

Well… I’m not a religious guy.
I think people think too much about the words on bible.
I don’t think it has “god” words in the slightest, it’s just a book of rules and behaviors to avoid turning our life into a real f~~~ up.
But you can’t just tell people “don’t do this” so you mix in a lot of mambo yambo and bullS~~~ so people can swallow it.

Maybe we should just follow the instructions and forget about interpretation.
Or call it quits once for all.

I do too. I like to ponder on Creation and many other things. I’m a self-learner and my curiosity is only surpassed by my love to learn.

Interesting indeed. Well that is a theory i never thought of. It could be right. Many of the things in revelation, are happening now. The liberal f~~~ups of the USA with their stupidity are doing exactly what they bible said they would do. Anybody remember Soddom and Gomorrah?? The city full of gay people and bulls~~~. Yea, God destroyed those cities. That made me think of New Orleans. Now Atlanta is the Aids/HIV capital of the USA, with healthcare on the fritz, that problem may rectify itself.

But with the whores of the world, this theory could certainly lend some credence.

Yes Venom, I also believe these days are the end-times period that the angel Gabriel related to John of Patmos through visions in a trense. Many events and places of today match what was prophecied through the words of the prophets and the accuracies are sometimes uncanny.
But the subject of this thread doesn’t pretend to be a theory. The Mystery of the Whore, Babylon… have all been otherwise explained to my satisfaction but you’re right about the parallel with Sodom and Gomorrah, and not only in the US. As you said so well, the evil on earth follows the exact course prophecied in scripture.
I’m not going to post the whole chapter here, bro. I don’t think it’s indispensable to our convo here but if you wish to make a point supported by scripture you can certainly do that, the Bible is available online 365 days of the year.

Yeah guys I too like to speculate about the bible and how what is prophesied it coming into fruition. I definitely can see where you reached that conclusion. With all the debauchery and hedonism that 3rd wave feminism has wrought on society, I can see this Whore of Babylon embodying this madness.

It isn’t by chance that they identify with Jezebel and are proud of it. They even have a Jezebel.com where they gather to plot their next atrocious move against Men in the Gender War.
Everything in chapter 17 seems to describe feminism to a T. You can practically replace “harlot” “prostitute” and “her” with ‘feminist bitch’ and the text would still make sense.
