Every day, one of our brothers puts out yet another reason to never, ever get married and if you do, to NEVER, EVER have children. My offering today: It’s been many years, but I am reminded of the nauseating trips to Disney World (and any other similar venue in any other tourist trap) in FL. Looking at all the screaming brats and the miserable expressions on the faces of the men who had to endure this purgatory in the sweltering heat, should scare any man away from this fate. More than likely, this poor fool was taking a hard earned “vacation” from a job he more than likely despised or slaved away at while forking over all his hard earned $$ to an ungrateful bitch (judging by the looks of many of the women at these places…a land whale of major girth) and some stupid theme park. But I can only imagine him counting the hours and days until he can return to work to escape that torture. A vacation to him (“him” being “me” back in my blue pill days) would have been hiking through the mountains, maybe a trip to a country never visited in some remote off the beaten path region. But that never matters in a marriage, especially one with kids – it is what is best for the “kids” which is just another cleverly disguised term for “the wife”.
Brothers: DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU. What is so cool about MGTOW is that we are like a vaccine against an illness you know is out there and will eventually catch unless you take the “shot”. Life is too short. Serve yourself first and the rest will follow.
    Peace.

My old boss when I worked in the Trades. Blue Pill as hell but a stand up guy in all other respects. His wife is a professional Environmentalism teacher. So in the middle of the summer his busiest time she would have conferences in Hawaii that she decided to turn into family vacations. He misses out on 2 weeks of his most productive work season and is put in charge of the kids while she sits in a conference. Then when she gets out in the afternoon she drags the family around to do what she wants to do.

Every time he came back he was exhausted and more than happy to get back to work. When a vacation makes you miserable you’re doing it wrong. The one thing he always focused on was that it actually gave him time to spend with his kids. So there was that at least. Still not worth it.

Disney (like many popular venues) is overcrowded these days. It is very bad and last time I was at Epcot we only got on one ride because of it.

The restaurant I work in is like this too. People all decide they’re special and need to be there at the same time. It makes for a long wait for them and puts alot of stress on the staff. We can barely keep up. If it was up to me people would have to make reservations.

That’s funny! Yesterday the I think Stealthy mentioned the Epcot Death March. I did Orlando a couple of times SINGLE and the man misery level in Bq. out radiated Fukushima unit 3! I looked at these guys and thought WFT WERE YOU THINKING??? I had more fun drafting and sideswiping my brother around the corners at the go cart track!

My preferred vacations are done in an instant when I run to the mountains ahead of a storm for an epic day of skiing!

The problem isn’t the them park, it’s who you’re going with, what you do there, and how you do it.

I took the kids to Disney World 2 years ago and we had a blast. Great memories. It was just me and the 3 kids so there was absolutely no woman to keep happy. We got the meal plan package, and the film package, and stayed on site. No worries about costs of food, taking enough pictures, or driving. I scheduled any sit down dinner in advance. I got the Disney park app, so I knew how long line waits were and could reschedule things as needed. I got each of the kids $30 gift cards to spend as they wish, so there was no begging Daddy to buy me this or that. Each day we went to a park, we got there right when it opened and avoided heavy lines. We scheduled fast passes for late morning early afternoon when there would be crowds. I don’t think we stayed at any park past 3 PM, never waiting longer then 30 minutes on any ride.

It helps that I enjoyed reliving some of my memories as a kid, and that I enjoy acting like a kid myself. My kids were also old enough that they still enjoyed it, but are pretty self-sufficient overall.

My kids will tell me it was the favorite vacation, and we often talked about stuff that happened when we were there. Well worth it. It certainly isn’t for everyone, and it can really suck if you do it wrong.

    Ok. Then do it.

While the rides are fun, it is sometimes a hot, humid, concrete hell between the rides. The parks really need to invest in fans on the concrete between the lines of people, to keep the air moving through the part. That would help matters.

Just up-size, and weatherize those fanless Dyson fans. And because there are no fan-blades in these fans, the park personnel would not even have to worry about anyone getting hurt by the fans, baring possible electrocution during a thunderstorm.

Giant Dyson fans would be cool in so many ways.

I too have found family vacations more stressful than going to work. Usually, it is not because of my child. It’s the wife acting up that is a problem, and cowtowing to her needs, attending to her comfort and keeping her entertained.

She’s been crabby about the wait to board a cruise ship. She hates being confined on road teips. I’m expected to find the perfect place to eat in a city I’ve never been to. She’s told me she wished I were dead near a beach paradise.screamed about divorce in a cruise ship. Keeping the wife amused is a constant chore.

My daughter on the other hand is a champion traveler.

If you are stuck with a person like that, get a fifth wheel RV trailer, with a four door pick-up truck pulling it. That way the person never really leaves the comforts of home. And when you reach the destination to dropped off the trailer in an RV park, with just use the truck to go somewhere local. So, there are no parking issues.

My daughter on the other hand is a champion traveler.

    That is nice.

Can someone explain the draw of Disney to me? It’s a theme park/amusement part – rollercoasters & Mickey Mouse? Is this what i’m missing?

Don’t get me wrong, i love rollercoasters. But a whole place setup just for kids sounds like the 3rd circle of hell to me.

Disney is a marketing juggernaut. The movie characters are made into toys and used to sell every product under the sun. Children of a certian age get sucked in and want everything Disney. My daughter wore a Cinderella Halloween costume almost daily for a year when she was two or three. Naturally, parents want their children to be happy and have good memories of childhood. For many, that includes a trip to Disney

The worst parts are the parks are mostly unchanged since 1970 but they treat your money like it’s junk.

As a kid I remember it being a source of awe, because of how big and how well run and looked after everything was. Now that I’m older I can see the flaws in it. Especially after that gruesome monorail accident in 2009.

I’ve always thought disneyland and other parks would be a lot more fun without all the mothers and children running around getting in the way. Like a giant outdoor bar with roller coasters.

My parents paid for us all to go to Florida a few years ago and I know my ex wife delayed splitting up with me until after the free holiday.

Lets be honest, vacation for men is the most expensive and least enjoyable thing you can do. The main reason women want to go on vacation is because they see the “amazing time” their friends are having on vacation in their Facebook pages and feel like they are missing out.

The reality is all the woman does is bitch and moan the whole time and the husband gets the privilege of paying for everything.

For women, everything eventually boils down to Alpha Fucks, Beta Bucks.

The place would certainly be better without all the strollers clogging it up.

Unless you insist on going camping. Then it’s a cheap and awesome vacation which is only unenjoyable for women.

I’ve never understood all the strollers. It’s not like you can take an infant on any of the rides, and the kid wouldn’t understand what’s going on anyways. It’s like the jerks who insist on bringing their screaming infants into movie theaters instead of getting a babysitter. They seem to be hellbent on using their child to ruin things for everyone else. Though that seems to be happening less and less as the rate of single motherhood increases.

That’s how I and others I know feel about it as well. Makes no sense to bring such a young child to a place they will barely remember, if at all.
