The Local Job Market is Crazy here

I live in a Midwestern metropolitan area, and unemployment here is about 3%. The market is crazy with wages skyrocketing because you can’t find anyone available… in IT, where I work, it is around 1.8% unemployment right now, good team members are snapped up before you can even make an offer to them…

It is crazy around here.

The real challenge though is these people who aren’t worth much are getting mega-salaries because they are in demand. They aren’t worth it, I almost wish the job market here would crash somewhat…

I’m working in the upper Midwest right now, by the Twin Cities and I agree the job market is booming here. Not just IT, but across the board.

Yesterday I saw an ad for medium-haul truckers that will pay a 15K bonus for qualified drivers. 401K, paid vacation, health insurance.

The HVAC folks are advertising over the place and will train you while under salary.

Dairy farms are hurting for help and will hire no experience labor at 13-16 bucks an hour.

Unemployment rate around the 3 percent you mentioned.

Nice to see what can happen with the US economy when a socialist isn’t running things.

How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being.

So like what areas are we talking bout exactly? I’m down for making a move elsewhere, that’s the great thing about not being tied down, you can just pack up your s~~~ and move to greener pastures without the bs of dealing with excess baggage.

Don’t know this areas that well, just working here for 9 months. But damn there seems to be lots of radio ads and signs up for truck drivers and HVAC folks.

I’m in the Nashville area. If you have IT skills, it is a very in-demand market. High cost of living to be right in town though, but the pay is pretty high.
