Vaudeville circus type acts have always brought a smile to my face. Back in 1936 Larry Griswold, a gymnast, and George Nissen, a gymnast and diver, both at the University of Iowa, invented the Trampoline. The early acts they did they used it underneath a high-dive, later Griswold used it in a Vaudevillian type act with a diving board above it. He was amazing even into old age, later he trained protégés and to this day the same act is done with some variations, all are amazing and funny at the same time. My favorites are the last two, both of Vladimir Georgievsky. Griswold is 51 in the Ed Sullivan appearance, second link. If you don’t have much time just watch the last one with Georgievsky.

I was pretty good on a diving board until they all vanished due to liability.
