I remember my Mother had some family friends over once and one of them said her son recently got married at 40 and that I’d be more likely to get married when I’m around 40. I didn’t say anything, but I knew that would never be the case. I’d be more likely to be rooting people almost half that age.

But then women decided they didn’t like those rules, so they complained religion was barbaric and misogynist and demanded men stop being religious. Call me Blind, Deaf, and Retarded (Cubed!). Somehow in spite of myself: I’ve flown under the radar of 99.999% of all women. I wear completely worn out clothing…I don’t buy new clothing until my clothes have holes and are ragged.

My truck is 17 years old…completely beat up.

Hilarious…who the f~~~ would do that? The way I see it, the older you get the less value women your age have as a wife, and the more you have to lose as hopefully you are accumulating wealth as you age and have had more time to work.

I probably would have married at 22 if I thought I found a good catch who wanted to settle down young and have a family…but the thought of hey…maybe I’ll do it at 42…HELL NO!

Intelligence is not the problem, nor our women displaying intelligence when they are deceiving men. These choses to marry, divorce, and be deceptive are rarely made for logical reasons, just emotional. They choices are made because we lack perspective, or simply refuse to look at the situation from a different angle. They are made for immediate gratification over long term benefit. They are made because we make assumptions about people that support the decisions we want to make, without bothering to check if the assumptions are remotely true.

When I chose to get married, it’s not as if I didn’t know that 50% of marriages ended in divorce, but I thought that only happened to people who didn’t care about their spouse, who didn’t work at it. I thought my ex believe in commitment as strongly as I did. I filled in the gaps of things I didn’t know about her with only positive things. I thought so many things about myself and her that were just wrong. The decision was not logical, it was emotional.

I don’t believe my ex ever had some grand scheme to marry and divorce. I think she always believed she was doing the right thing, the fair thing, but failed to realize when she’s making decisions emotionally, or considered that she lacked the proper perspective.

I’m not making excuses, just that it’s not a matter of intelligence and logic, morality and evil, in many cases. It’s the fact that we are human that makes us do stupid, selfish and damaging things to one another, without even fully understanding why. I do 100% agree that it’s on men to rise above this, just as it was on me. However, I think there’s also some room for compassion and understanding for those that fall for the trap.
