I think this sort of mangina site exists because there is funding available for it. Indoctrinating men is a “good cause” these days.
It was an interesting read because it seemed to me rather like a religious writing. The author sets out a problem that has arisen between science and his religion, shows that the problem is legitimate and that science has proved there is a contradiction between his doctrine and reality. He then finds a smooth fudge to say but its Ok really because it doesn’t matter. This is so like so much religious writing. Equality is the new Jesus. The priests of equality are the new pre reformation catholic church, living off money donated by those who want their so called sins forgiven.

Here is my proposal: a mob with pitchforks and torches comes to deal with all the would-be Dr Frankensteins inside their mad scientist laboratories.

Some of these people get so focused on male and female and the relationship between them, and they assume that the environment is a result of this relationship. I believe this is because they have been protected so well for so long from the real environment that they are not aware that it exists. They live in an artificially created environment that’s only been possible for a relatively few generations. The real environment demands that in order for a species to survive, it must eat, and it must reproduce. If it fails either of these challenges even one time, in the context of the real environment, it will very quickly become extinct.
Both the biology and the behavior of males and females are an adaptation to these challenges. It is the challenge of males to make sure everyone eats, and thus to make sure the species survives one more day. It is the challenge of females to reproduce (and thereby to make sure the species reproduces) and make sure the species survives one more generation. Males and females evolved both behaviors and biology to allow each gender to best meet his/her respective challenge. And this evolution occurred because the stakes are as high as they are (extinction) and the challenges are as significant as they are. Historically, producing food and producing babies have both been life threatening challenges.
Where those challenges are engaged by genetically fit individuals, the risk of death to the individual has never been zero. And where there have been pockets of populations were those challenges were not engaged at all, extinction of those pockets were the result. This is why there is no historical record of them. It isn’t because other strategies couldn’t be tried. It’s because where they were tried, they disappeared.
This is the relationship between the real environment, and both genders of the human population. The genders each adapted to their respective roles in order to give the whole species the best chance to survive their collective relationship with the often hostile, and life threatening environment. It’s not that you can’t screw around and experiment with these roles if you want to. It’s just that extinction is the result EVERY TIME you don’t get it right. That’s the terms of the relationship with real environment about which these social experimenters seem to no longer be aware.
These new experimental ideas are not so exotic that they could not have been dreamed up and tried before. It’s just that in those pockets where they were tried, extinction was the result. The gender roles we inherited (either by socialization or by hard wired genetics) are the roles that survived the relationship with our environment.
Those who think they can and should be preforming these experiments should look at the product offspring that are being produced and ask themselves if these offspring are more, or less likely to survive to reproduce viable offspring of their own. As it is now, the results of these experiments are a generation of a smaller number of children (birthrates below replacement levels), who are increasingly raised exclusively by single mothers. These children raised by single mothers have higher rates of school drop out, teen pregnancy, teen drug use and just about every other social ill that can be measured. This is slow motion extinction.
In the view of the social experimenters, these kids are the evidence that successfully proves that what they assumed was the unnecessary role of men can be changed or eliminated. But since they are less fit for the competition of survival and the challenge of reproducing viable offspring, in the view of the real environment, this pocket of our species is a more likely candidate for extinction.
Women and social experimenters may not like one or the other of the roles that survived the evolutionary process, or the relationship of these roles to each other. But the real environment does not care. It does not care what you like, and it does not care if you survive.

The article’s argument seems to be that there are certain male traits that are inherently wrong/immoral, and therefore, we need to use ‘nurture’ techniques to eliminate these traits from society. The article just assumes the premise is accepted, and barely even mentions the premise at all, probably because he knows clearly defining the premise will result in the reader immediately rejecting the argument.
I personally don’t believe that their are inherently wrong traits, whether male or female. What we do have is bad motivations and bad timing. And that can be fixed, to an extent through nurture, and just as importantly, through punishment. Completely eliminating a certain characteristic from a man or woman not only will fail miserably, but result in misery for the person you’re trying to modify. Again, that doesn’t mean boundaries and punishment aren’t appropriate, it means we shouldn’t punish people for being who they are, just because we don’t like the potential of who they could be.
Such a statement has to work on principle though, and not just for a single cause. That means that you shouldn’t force your daughter to be a princess, or your son to be a football player, if it’s not something they want to be. It will result in misery. At the same time though, you cannot ignore the reality that a son who wants to be a princess is likely to live a miserable life if left without discipline, to adopt the traits necessary to succeed in life even if they aren’t natural to him. At the same time, your daughter needs to relate to other women, to an extent, to be happy. Both cases learning what is the right motivation and time to allow their nature to come through. It’s no different than a person who’s naturally impatient. Many of life’s challenges require patience, while there is certainly times when immediate action is an asset.
The way I see it, you’re never wrong for how you feel, but your feelings should not dictate all your actions.
