    Gentlemen,

today I found this very interesting study by the Oxford University. It’s about what kind of jobs will be replaced by artificial intelligence and robotics in the future. Of course it is always hard to predict the future, but to me it sounds valid. Other studies and developments suggests it is likely this predictions come true at least partly.

Now have a look at the list:

    http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/news/article-2642880/Table-700-jobs-reveals-professions-likely-replaced-robots.html

Noticed something? Yes, the typical office jobs usually occupied by women are on the top of the list. According to this study something between 75% und 85% of all typical women jobs are threatened by this development, but only about 1/3 of mens jobs.
Remember, even if the lists shows a lot of typical mens jobs on the top, how many men actually are working in it? There are not many watchmakers, but many construction workers. Men do, women organize. Computers (and AI) can very well organize, but I want to see the robot replacing actual craftmanship.

    Cheers!

Now imagine what will happen when robotic replacements become mainstream and it’s a matter of 24 months and whole occupations disappear. Imagine what it’ll be like when the child support and welfare payments expire and women who’ve been on the take for 20+ years have to try to re-enter the workforce.

Yes, females, replaced men, robots replace females.

I am a huge advocate for robots replacing jobs that will operate 24/7 and never ask for a day off. This would free up the menial somewhat laboring minimum wage jobs no one particularly wants to or enjoys working, and open up creative and technical jobs robots don’t have the ability or decision-making skills to replace. As the technology advances more minimum wage jobs would be taken away, more technical jobs could be created in it’s place to create a better technology, and start the cycle all over again. Women who simply play the part, look pretty, and push papers at work, will be forced to let go and easily replaced along with her female co-workers.

Wake up call for women to get started in the STEM field.

Well see compensation in other areas. As pointed out, the number of technical jobs is likely to increase, and we’ll see brand new professions pop up. I think we’ll also see traditional luxary services become a lot cheaper and more common place. Say massage therapy for example. It already seems like there are a lot more of those places around then there was 20 years ago, and it’s a lot more affordable.

Without though, the typical woman and the skills she offers will become a lot less valuable as time goes on.

    Ok. Then do it.

Revolution will happen when robot job replacement outpaces society’s ability to find purpose for the unemployed.

Interested to see where Software Engineers sit on that list.

People say that we’ll have software writing software, which with tools like ReSharper I can see that happening to an extent.

However you will always need that human element to determine if what code the computer spat out, is actually doing what was intended.

Not to mention that computers are not infallible!

Spend any amount of time with an operating system, looking at you Windows, and you’re going to experience a system crash. Without a human with the skills to reboot, reprogram and debug the system, that all powerful AI mainframe is nothing more than a door stop.

Yes, someday we will have computers/AI writing software, but there will always going to be the need for human programmers to kick off the process and provide oversight.

I talked with the software developers in my company and they agree. There will be programming AIs some day and they will write actual code and perhaps the majority of all code. But: Software development is one of the most creative tasks ever and those AIs will lack exactly this, creativity. So it will be used to write all the code for interface, menus, file handling etc, but hardly develop algorithms, software ideas etc. So the hard stuff will be still the task of a human. AI will also replace a lot of software testers, but never the designers of software. Maybe software development will look different in future and a developer is partly one who is designing software and algorithms and partly is handling the AI to write the code.

Anyway, if it stays like it is today this will be a mens job.

I really wonder if people, especially those fetishistsminists, realize what deep impact this will have on our society. It will be maybe more fundamental than industrialization in the 19th century or the impact of the Internet. A third or maybe more of the potential workforce will be obsolete and the majority of it will be women, if they don’t change their attitude.

We are living in interesting times, indeed.

Unemployed women will just be absorbed by the public sector.

The problem with replacing people with robots is…

I am not an advocate of replacing humans with robots, except for sex robots maybe. But I am afraid the big companies will find this is a way of increasing profits for a short time, just to find out after some time nobody is buying the products anymore. All the CEOs of big companies are thinking today is shareholder value and the annual reports, but nobody thinks strategic anymore.
Yes, the public sector will absorb some of the free workforce, especially over here in Europe, but only to some extend. First because it is paid by taxes and less employment means less taxes. Second, because not even a socialist government can create that many bulls~~~ jobs.

The only bright side on this is, it will have a much bigger impact on women than man.

Not long after its a women problem it will become a every mans problem.
